With Imp Hot Streak 2/2 you want crit buddy. @ 70 a 20 int gem gives a mage .2% crit while a 20 crit gem gives him .9% WHICH HAS MOAR CRIT I WONDURRRR?.

Intellect is King - the strongest stat by far. Much stronger than even Hit. Intellect is a Primary Stat. It increases our Spell Power, Critical Strike Chance and our Mana. Due to the strength of Intellect: we aggressively Gem, Enchant and Gear towards maximising the amount present on our gear.



Crit is a strong Fire stat. Why? Because the Fire spec is built around Crit: Hot Streak relies on crits. Flashburn Mastery is more effective when spells Crit (They leave an Ignite, which Flashburn can amplify). Crit rates boost the amount of mana restored by Master of Elements, which in turn allows for more Fireballs to be cast. Combustion is a more powerful (and more easily used) cooldown when spells crit often. Crit is the heart of the Fire spec.





From a scale of 0 to 3.7216 Intellect is worth 3.7216, and crit is worth 1.9366

that EJ post is primarily, if not all, about PvE. PvP would have different weights, especially since thats for lvl cap. level cap pve does not always translate to lower lvl pvp.

argueing crit/int is retarded. its like preaching that overall dps is greater then more frequent burst opportunities, which it isn't necessarily.
