Blackfathom Leggings vs Silk-Threaded Trousers

I, personally think the Blackfathoms win, but is crit needed a lot as druid?

Bfd!

Even without the crit, 3 stam and more armour versus 4 int, I'd take the survivability in most PVP scenarios these days. But that isn't the case! You get 8 crit also, which is huge even if it is on a Rdruid.

For anyone else . Go blackfathom . I myself use dark weave breeches for the super smexy blend of Stam spirit and int.

I use Blackfathom on my rdruid because of the extra survivability of higher stamina and the large amount of +crit. Healing in a BG is usually an all or nothing affair (rarely just topping off someone's health) and a good crit heal will save you and your friends.

good choice mixed with the robe of kelris if you have no intention of FCing and plan for long mid games but for the average pug in this bracket uneseccary.

In general

I prefer dark moon robe of the scorcer for the haste when I gear I use. Haste> Everything. After that decide if the fights are going to be short and bursty or long and not as bursty . For bursty I gear crit and in for long fights I gear spirit out the wazoo . Then and again that is only for mid healing / ab healing . For fc support I gear for more survivability . Why? Well there are just a lot more ppl in mid to distract enemies from u and bushes /cliffs / stumps to heal from. Ppl on ur fc are usually more objective too so thus survival gear .

Blackfathom Leggings, the stam and crit are pretty usefull.

About spirit, I have more spirit on my alliance druid than I do on my horde one. Due the horde mana chest enchant its manapool is significantly larger and I find spirit is less important.

I feel kind of arrogant in saying that the Blackfathom leggings are BiS on Three separate fronts. I apologize for what may seem contradictory, but let me explain.

First, as has been mentioned, the stamina is vastly superior. For this reason alone, BFL are worth taking over Silk-Threaded trousers, since much of this bracket as a healer is being able to tank enormous amounts of damage.

Second, the Critical Strike rating is something that scales with Restoration Druids extremely well. Regrowth has a base 60% chance to be a critical strike, but, when you're spamming Regrowths to keep a target alive, that number often results in many non-crits. I aim to get about 15% critical strike in BG's so that my base crit chance is 75% on Regrowth. Increasing the consistency of the Critical Hits from Regrowth (and to Rejuve and Swiftmend, by extension) is a very powerful and often overlooked scaling mechanism for Druids that supercedes blunt Intellect stacking in my opinion. That being said, I don't make many concessions on my druid (who I would link if his server wasn't recently merged with Silvermoon, causing some unwanted problems with Wowarmory), since Stamina, Intellect, and Critical Strike are all extremely valuable.

Third, the armor difference between BFL and STT is a pretty substantial one. While not necessarily a make/break point by itself, there is certainly something to be said about reducing damage taken from Hunters/Rogues/Warriors.

BFL. For resto druid: crit is life- and quite literally. Crit heals are the things that save people in BGs. Critting with Swiftmend is also very very good. And BFL have more stam. 4 int difference means 4 SP difference- which in my opinion isn't very much.

crit isn't important at all, you already have a 60% guarantee on regrowth.
