Resilience

So, I'm just getting into the 80 twink thing.

I am looking to make a rogue & blood DK atm; for the rogue, how much resilience should I stack?

Rogue has been my class since vanilla and I am *exceptionally* comfortable with it.. so I feel like I can bear with having less resil then normal.
Should I roll all PvE like at 70? Or is X% resil basically mandatory?

Thanks!

For a rogue, you will be able to go with less resil. The bracket is already very bursty even through resil. Use your CDs to get yourself out of situations.

For a Blood DK, it depends on what you want to do. If you're strictly FCing, then definitely go full resil and reforge to mastery. Otherwise if you're trying to do DPS, you will want to lean more to Cata gear.

just saying since the vengeance nerf rolling blood in the 80 bracket is a bad idea your just gonna get facerolled. :l

I don't plan on doing a ton of BG's, I am just looking for max survivability to spar with 85's.
Both toons are going to be wholly built around dueling 85's.

Or maybe I'll make like healmesteph and reroll now :)

Why would you go blood DK? Its so bad pvp wise..
Go frost, they're awesome.. :)

If you're EU, please roll alliance.. Since we need good people

I am US :( but I will be alliance.

I've just been having a lot of lol moments as a blood DK.. am looking for survivability more then damage.
but I am dual specced for frost :)

EDIT: What profs should I roll with? Eng seems to benefit less at 80.. I don't think I want it. Also, I am not looking to level alch, since I have multiple already.. I was considering LW & inscription? or maybe BS?

4k resilience on a rogue!

Alchemy and Engineering. Engineering has the Spinal Healing Injector (that stacks with the alchemy trinket's 40%). Which will heal you for a good 35-40k. Well worth the combo. Also gives you the grounded plasma shield if you need more survivability or the rocket boosts.

I think it would be to do with alchemist stones not stacking. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong however.
Ah yeh. I was thinking because all the Cata ones say "Unique-Equipped: Alchemist Stone (1)" it must be referring to something else, but I guess you could still equip one of the older versions.

Sorry, it was a quick post and I wasn't clear. I meant the heal from the Spinal Healing Injector is increased by 40% by the stone. Which makes stacking Engi with Alch a good option. (my b :))

I'm not sure if they've dwarfed the "EFFECT" of resilience over the last year or so since I quit P2P, but almost every ounce of Resilience you could stack mattered.
An 80 Lock with a full set of 1 season 'OLD' PVP gear vs a completely geared rogue for PVE... I owned him in every fight and he was pissed... He couldn't Crit Me.
It made a huge difference and I can't imagine that it no longer matters in PVP or they would remove the stat from pvp gear completely.

Can anyone verify the effect of resilience in todays PVP Builds? Even at 19-20 does PVP matter?
Is there a resilience CAP like there is a HIT Cap?
Can we get an educated response please?
Thanks

Resilience doesn't reduce chance to be crit like it did in the past. It does one thing today: Reduces damage taken from players by x%. This actually makes it stronger in general than it was in the past, and as such (at least for healers, in the 80 bracket) getting as much as possible is desirable. I'd say most damage classes want something around 700 resilience, as this translates to 30% damage reduction I think, and stops you being blown up by a certain frost-casting class.

There isn't a resilience cap, it's still valuable no matter how much you have, it just has a DR so it's harder to stack the more you have (it's still as strong, just stacks slower)
