Requests to Farm - What Do You Do?

In my battlegroup it seems to happen every game - come the last flag cap, there are cries of 'don't cap, we want to farm for the honour!' - although usually not nearly as legible as that.

Usually this comes from those below level nineteen or the 'I have just broken the 1k hp barrier and I so totally PWN' crowd, although not all the time.

My stance on farming - gy or general - is that as long as flags are being capped in a timely manner it's a legitimate control strategy, although one that I generally prefer not to see. Once flags are being held up in order to farm though, any tolerance on my part gets thrown out the window.

My usual response is a warning, waiting two minutes to see if anyone is making an attempt and if not I then usually make some dramatic statement about having to do all the work myself and head off to return it. This either results in people following me and the flag being returned, me returning it myself if it's a really bad team or me dying and the opposing side getting the cap and letting them know I'm serious. I also refuse to give support to those farming, which usually results in cries of 'omg druid why didnt you heal me I was one kill away from wrecking ball!'.

So yeah, I tend to get a bit bitchy and vindictive over it. I hate being trapped in games because of idiots farming, and dealing with increased queue times cause the other faction gets sick of being farmed and goes off to do something else.

Just wondering if anyone else has any strategies for dealing with this?

i carry the flag, and if they ask to farm honor i tell them that they 'should level to 80 and get out of the pvp bracket. 80 is where you farm honor, you get like no honor here.'

if the other team has the flag though and everyone is refusing to return it, then just go over as the flag carrier and return it. it's the funnest option and makes your team realize their incompetence.

I believe holding the other team in there grave yard is a viable strat as long as the flags are indeed being capped, If me, any guildies, or any friends have the flag, we cap it, no matter what whiners yelling to not cap. If one of the GY farmers has it in the Gy, i tell my team to pull out and let them die.

1)If all they want to do is farm and not return the flag while you are stuck holding it, I do 1 of the 3 things. Sit there bored and hope my guildie/friends can return it.

2) Drop it and let it auto return

3) Run to their base, and hope I can return the flag and then get back before another enemy grabs it.

I dont understand why these gy farmers think they are getting honor. Its much easier and faster to just finish a game quickly and jump into another game.

well Q times can be dreadful on certain factions. so some people think that if they have, for example, a 10+ minute Q, they should farm for honor.

but the flaw in that logic is that if they level to 80, they can get boatloads more honor per hour anyways.

If the other team doesn't already have our flag and I've got theirs, I'll return it, and try to convince my teammates to just cap it if they're the ones holding the flag.

Though if someone else on my team is holding the flag and won't cap, a decent way to end the game (if you have a good amount of hp) is to just tell them "hey, i'll hold it if you want to go farm kills with them for honor, i have more health anyways". If they give it up, just cap it =p.

One thing more if you farm them for 10+ mins, you dont gonna enter next wsg instant. Its still 10+ mins.

The change that the lvl -19 or -500hp character dont gonna rejoin the battleground if you just farm them on gy for even 5+ mins.

For example if you level up a new character that you not gonna twink and you just got farmed on gy in 5+ mins betwen the 2nd and 3th cap, would you rejoin the queue directly after?

If the queue is 10 mins then and 3-10 people dont gonna rejoin, the queue maybe is 15 mins then or even 20...

Return flag is the only honorable

ok first of all, stop posting with large font and different colors. your opinions aren't more important. just do it to respect other posts...we don't want to battle with larger and larger fonts. just keep it normal.

only guides and moderators should use the large letters and different fonts, in my opinion.

but i do agree, capping the flag asap keeps Q times down. but people have the logic that if they farm for an hour on a 10 minute Q time, then it's efficient honor. we just have to use other methods of proving it to them that it's really not worth it, which is sometimes difficult :(

i always cap it

if some fierys kid has it, tell them to go up to the gy so they can get the hunters, say youll support them, then drop back while theyre running in, it works surprisingly well lol

I just say no.

I will normally make some snide comment about the type folks that farm in the process as well.

JUST SAY NO. It might be fun when you are a new twink, but it gets old and doesn't show much class imho.
