Reflective gear

I've been farming for some gear in the open world, and as a shaman without any aoe, I had a thought about creating a damage reflecting set, just for fun.

So far, I've thought about Naglering, Crest of Retribution, Ramstein Trinket for some aoe burst and Razor Gauntlets. As It's impossible to farm a Skullflame Shield, I can't really think of anything else to stack.

Still researching, but would love some input if you know of anything I could add onto this.

And yes, this is probably gonna be a terrible idea, but it's stuff like this that has made me love wow since it's release.

EDIT: Masterwork Stormhammer also has a chance on hit to blast 3 targets for nature damage.

Oh I love this topic.

If it’s on the loot table for shaman, there are 2 leather pieces in Zuldazar and Nazmir from rares “direhorn studded” belt and legs. Which have a chance to reflect damage.

It’s also important to note that damage reflect can also proc elemental force and satyr enchants. (With the exception of Druid brambles which was nerfed)

I’d also recommend a thorium shield spike for max reflect. But you might honestly be better off with Stam depending on your block %

Oh I got really excited by the studded legs and belt, but it seems to only be lootable by leather-wearing classes I'm afraid.

Gonna have to try both DW Hand of Antu'Sul as enhancement with ride the lightning, and one Hand of Antu'Sul + reflect shield as resto. Think enhancement with ride the lightning, some reflect gear and the ZF mace might actually be pretty good.

There's the ring from BRD, Naglering from Golem Lord Angelmarch aswell.
Looking forward to see where you get with this :D cheers

I'm an idiot... I have made 6 shaman farming these and never got a drop I thought it was just a bad luck thing. -_-

I decided to finish this sheet about a thorn build.
I chose Leather as Armor type, because Razor Gauntlets procs less than the Direhorn Studded Set (thank for this thread)
I didn't put any normal gems in the kit, as I don't know yet which one I'll use, depending of if I go Monk or Druid.
The weapon is only for strength users, so you have to get legacy or get a strenght friend who can drop it.
For the gloves, be wary than only Alliance player can make these gloves, as the pattern can only be sell by a merchant in Wetlands (So sorry f2p Horde, you can still make a set like this, just get normal gloves with socket). It deals 1 damage whatsoever on a 5% proc rate when you use a melee abilities/AA.
The cloak is interesting, as he can procs on you spells/abilities, but you can have an other cloak if you want, depending of your choice.
I calculate the Primary stat and Stamina by having the minimum of those (so the minimal Agility/Intellect is 55 and Stamina is 54)(the "5 intel" hasn't been count in the calcs).
I put the Moonglade set, as it's the only class that still have the set bonus (the +2 is 2% more healing on Rejunevation, might be useful if you want to play Resto Druid). Again, you can swap with whatever you like, Keep in mind that if you want to get the 1% spell reflection, you must have a Meta gem socket. If you really want to go crazy, you can go for Electromagnetic Gigaflux Reactivator from Gnomeregan, on use it creates a Static Barrier that deals damages on melee from opponents.

If you have any questions/opinions, let me know twink friends!!!

Nagelring is awful from my experience, 1% dps of my prot pala with a whole dungeon worth of mobs hitting him.
Props to you for pulling this though. Test this build and tell us how it went, maybe there's something to it with martyr, ele (and maybe some racials?) being triggered by reflective procs.

From my VERY limited testing on the shaman so far, it does pretty good damage when it procs. I think the reflect procs will deal quite half-decent damage, relative to my normal damage (which would not be the case for a class that has its own aoe abilities), while farming many low-health mobs like the murlocs in Aszuna.

I'll definitely update this thread as I get closer to the full set, aswell as whenever I get time to do some test-sessions.

I'd agree that a "reflect build" would probably be best on a druid or monk, my build is simply to try a find a way for a shaman to passively kill low-health mobs around me while I do my best to manually smack each one down, one at a time.

Because of the nature of my build, I'm quite hesitant to add items like the green whelp armor, as putting the mobs to sleep would stop them from actually hitting me and taking damage.

Thank you for the gear-list though, will definitely look over everything properly when I have time!

Status update -
So far, it seems like I will have to pull a LOT of mobs to make the reflect gear actually kill a couple before I get around to clobbering them manually. Since the character is really quite fresh and I'm currently working on getting my enchants, I lack the +2 agi +2 stam gems I'm going for, which basically lowers my survivability to a point where I can barely survive this amount of mobs on me simultaneously.

The Rammstein trinket has however proven to be really nice during my farming, and it's basically the one piece of gear I'm currently finding value in. If you could stormstrike with a dagger, I can imagine that the Ghaz'rilla dagger would've actually been able to do some work. When it procs it actually deals quite nice damage, but just auto attacking is not really an option.

I will revisit this project when I'm properly enchanted and gemmed out, so that I can test all of the elemental power/ neck enchant procs from thorn damage.
I guess the reflect gear could work with a resto build for soloing some dungeon content, as it will provide just a little bit of passive damage during boss fights.

If you have any ideas to try out, please let me know!
Here's to hoping that the next expansion lowers vanilla epics and raids to level 20, so that I can do this build with the pure flame trinket and a skullflame shield or drillborer disk.

As far as classes/talents go, based on my limited knowledge.

-guardian Druid - brambles talent hits 100% of the time for a low amount. Does NOT proc enchants like satyr or ele force. (It used to in BFA…rip)

- shaman lightning shield hits frequently for a decent amount. I believe this can proc enchants like satyr and ele force

- prot paladin - holy shield talent. Dependent on block % - hits for a decent amount, especially when coupled with a thorium shield spike. This CAN proc enchants like satyr and ele force

TLDR. I think druids will have the most consistent reflect damage between the direhorn set, the ability to use dual wield ele force and the consistency of brambles proccing on every mob hit, even if brambles itself cannot proc enchants anymore

Both Naglering and Crest of Retribution (Rammstein's shield) scale off versatility. 88 arcane and 12 holy respectively on my 20 pally (tooltip).

- prot paladin - holy shield talent. Dependent on block % - hits for a decent amount, especially when coupled with a thorium shield spike. This CAN proc enchants like satyr and ele force

I feel so stupid for missing this, I have been doing quite some testing with my paladin and completely overlooked the holy shield talent, because Blessed Hammer feels so natural, I always play with it.

Since shadowlands is coming to an end and zones can crunch to low numbers, Lavafused Breastplate from the Maw could be a cool reflect item if Blizzard decides the Maw should be 20 or below. Its “Hot to the touch!” Effect is fire damage per hit like lightning shield and brambles. Plate only tho :/

People spending all this time theory crafting making a dogshit reflective set only to be two tapped by the same hunter wearing boas. Lul. This post reminds me of glancealot. I think thats his name.

this is a pve build tho right? There is something fundamentally different from making some meme-ass shit that no one is trying to claim is meta pvp vs glance insistance that his build is actually s teir.

This is in no way meant to be a viable pvp build. As is stated in the original post, it's essentially just trying to give an enhancement shaman some reflect damage to assist when farming boes.

I'll also leave a quick citation from my original post here "And yes, this is probably gonna be a terrible idea,".
I am fully aware that this isn't anything meta breaking, but simply something that brings me back to the times we used to build stupid things like fire-warriors in vanilla, doing massive damage with flame wrath and a full spell-power cloth set.

I would honestly advise you to try to find more fun in the game than aimed shot crit-reels.
