Recall my shamans name?

As the title says - Anyone that used to play F2P when it first came out that recall my shamans name? I forgot it and I can't gain access to the account for some reason. I tried most things, and doubt I'll get it opened.

I just really want to see if I can see it on armory.

I used to play for a bit back when Medanx and company were there. It had fishing hat and BoAs etc. It's been like a year or two now.

I'm NOT sure, but I think it might be something along the lines of "linea" or "Linnea" or something - I can't find anything of that sort on armory though.

Thanks to any oldschool f2ps that might recall this!

Not entirely sure.

Looking at Medanx's achievements he ding'd level 20 07/08/2011 - so add 2~ months to that, and that was probably around that time.

I'd look through my own screenshots - but during the update to 5.0.5 or 5.1 I had 2x World of Warcraft folders (separate) and somehow wow managed to merge their content. So all screenshots in both EU and US was of EU characters ... same with addons etc.

And I know I had separate things in there because US had F2P addons etc that I didn't have on EU. Not clue how it happened, but I've also been unable to open a "Wow US" client since, because I can log in on my EU account through what used to be my "US wow folder with realm.wtf set to US things" so to say.

I hope you find it, it's a:
Level 20 Dwarf Female Shaman - BoA shoulders, fishing hat, and boa wep (If I remember correct).

I don't know if this will work but it's worth a shot...

Go to your WoW file and find a folder called "WTF"

Open the WTF folder and then open another folder called "Accounts"

Once you open the Accounts folder, you'll find a bunch of folders named after random numbers. I think these are the identity for a certain account or something like that (I'm a PC nubcake).

Each folder will have list of servers in it

Open the folder for a certain server and you'll find a list of names of characters you had on that server (I think its saved settings or something like that :S )

When you open the Account folder (in like step 3), just open each of the sub-folders in there and check the character list for Ap in each case. Even if you deleted the character in-game, the file for it will still exist... I think it should still be there if you logged on that character with your current PC and didn't delete any of those files afterwards.

Interesting trip viewing these old screens. Several whispers from ppl that said that started f2p because of my vids, are tried mage after fighting me... hmm Lots of old names that have come and gone.

Pretty silly to think about ppl qq'ing about druid after seeing all these screen shots full of hunters :p
 
I appreciate the guide and effort - but like I told you, it re-worked my entire folder and changed the files so they were all the same as my EU folder. The only difference was that the top level folder was still called "World of Warcraft US". All content was the same as my EU one.

I have no clue how it happened, does Blizzard try to "Repair" files on patches or something?

Never the less, the entire folder was deleted due to not wanting to have a useless 31gb files on my harddrive. I already checked this though.

Ah well, I guess my shaman will forever be a myth and distant memory.

Thanks for the effort though. If anyone else have old screenshots of aty, medanx, invictusa and so forth - that I might be in, please do look through them :) Thanks!

I remember a player named Linnea or Linea. But I'm not sure if it was either on a random server or AP. However, I think it was a NE Druid. Don't shoot me. But the name DOES ring a bell :) However, I don't have my screenshots anymore :( Sorry.
 
i dont think i have screens that far back where you would be in them, the name sounds familiar but i looked at all my screens and didnt see anything like Linnea :<
 
Would've been nice to see the old gal one last time.

I've tried everything to gain access to the account - but they refuse to send an email to me even though it says "Locked due to suspicious activity - an email has been sent to your account", I don't receive an email ever.

Sad times..

It's a screenshot that you posted of your F2P Shaman, however, you decided to blur out your name in that screenshot.............. so i guess we'll never know what the name was :)

Well US phones were "offline" and I'm not sure what to tell them... "My trial account is locked!" ? hah ;(

All I have, is access to the email that is the username. But no email is received upon "suspicious activity"... I guess that's all.

ALSO! BREAKING NEWS

Looking at the screenshot you found, I could see the the "blurred" out name was larger at the end, at the bottom. AND I RECALLED MY NAME!
