he was doing the mob tagging business inside the Wrath instances. he'd tag the mobs, drop group and his group would kill the mobs. he'd get re-invited to avoid the kick from the dungeon and would get full XP for the killed mobs.

what did he do to cheat?

mob tagging inside the instance.

his original talk with the gm was very vague, it just said mob tagging; not specifically in an instance or outside. plus GMs are fallible...they are mostly paid to appease and know very little about the abstract rules and development questions. especially if it was late at night with their skeleton crew of gms.

even if at the time it was "legal", blizzard can change their protocol on the spot and make it "illegal" therefore at the end of the day it was cheating regardless.

but not from 80-85. not sure how that works anyways...im sure the outside route was a helluvalot faster than instance grinding would have been looking at the respawn rate where he was.
