Hello, so I've asked a GM this question but they weren't too sure so here I am.

If you switch faction to say Horde and then once you've obtained what you intended on obtaining you then switch back to Alliance does anyone know if you lose your rating on the standard third party websites like Eliteguilds and Xpoff?

The ratings only last per season from what I understand. And we are pretty deep into this season. Which means someone would have had to have done this on a tw!nk recently to give you an answer. It also means we don't have that much of it left.
Most people, if they plan on faction transferring for BiS, create their tw!nks on the opposite faction they intend on permanently playing. So they can save the extra faction transfer hassle fee and downtime.

Yeah as you said, I'm basically hoping to come across someone that has previously tried this, thanks for your input though!
 
I'll be able to let you know later today maybe, a friend of mine is switching factions and servers,w e'll see if it resets, his rating is broken anyways because it hasn't changed even after we did around 100 matches and refreshed etc. Kind've annoying

I dont think you will lose ur rating and in case u lost it u can just que again with the most disgusting comp (double bm) and get rank one. :Kappa:
 
A friend of mine, Poonfist; Xferred his 29 WW monk from Alliance to Horde and his rating on Eliteguilds stayed the same with no issue.

I'll start off by agreeing with you, I do que double BM regularly which is a very strong comp. However that being said, do you think in all this time we've never met another double BM comp? Of course we have, we've been sniped a million times by them, but we've never been defeated as of yet. Infact most double BM comps we face leave before the game even begins once they know it's me and my partner because they don't even get close to beating us as a mirror. We've never dodged, despite the comp we're facing.

Some more rough stats for you if you're not asleep already,
  • 100% of my 3v3s have been as WW (0 losses)
  • 30% of my 2v2 wins have been as WW and I intend to do more
  • 20% of my 2v2s have been as MW (I lost 1 of these but was queing with random ungeared guildies, no, not a BM haha)
  • 30% of my 2v2 wins as BM haven't been with another BM
Also, although I agree BM monks are overpowered, there are other comps that are just as overpowered in my personal opinion and I've lost vs a few when queing with other BiS BMs that aren't my usual partner. (Roughly 300-0 with my current partner. :cool:)

Anyway, I feel like I've just done a small essay haha, thank you for the useful comments guys. ;)

What comp are you 400-0 with?
 
I mean everyone has their preferences, but in my opinion you can't really be happy with 2.2k rating when queueing double BM. That's just my opinion.

OT: I just went from Alliance to Horde on my priest and maintained my rating!
