Rated Skirmish

Hello everyone!
First I just want to thank everyone on EU that played skirmish today, me and Tapenaden had lots of fun and the queuetimes were outstanding. GGWP all.
In this thread I want to talk about Rated Skirmish. I am assuming that Blizzard won't make skirmish rated for us lower fellas. I wonder if there is anyone who happen to be or know an addon-developer who could create some kind of rating for us twinks to bring out a competetive scene to the skirmishes. It would be extremely nice to have that, to explore comps that are viable but also to have some kind of goal while you twink.

A goal can of course be different to everyone, some might believe getting full BiS is their goal, some might want the highest amount of HKs, but I think that a rated arena would make people more happy to learn about teamwork and their class itself.

Dunno if that addon will be useful at all. Maybe if you can separate somehow the f2p/24p2p and 29's.

Did a few games today with [MENTION=1552]Kilda[/MENTION] on our 29 rogues and due to no scalling, F2P's are basically doomed, the same about 24's. They stand no chance.

I expect most 24's will be leveling to 28/29 soon. or simply re rolling 28/29's

Honestly I think the problem would be that 28/29's couldn't get enough games that actually counted for rating, in my admittedly limited experience from somewhere around 50-60 matches played 1 in 10 or less of those matches was against another team of 28/29's.

It would take FOREVER to get any kind of meaningful data.

A F2P ladder on the other hand would be a cinch, just ignore the 1 in 10 games against 28/29's.

A better option if it no longer requires us turning our EXP on would be to hold a wargame tournament or two to fill out a ladder then have an ongoing challenge system for that ladder.

As Juno0 stated, there is a thread about this from earlier in which many, including developers, (ranging from mogit's author to the f2p chat author) discussed the old Skirm add-on from back when there were skirmishes for twinks, Ill restate the obvious in the fact that the new rating system we operate on today is quite different than back then, but Bop was talking about re-creating the Skirm add-on based off the ERL rating system.

In response to the argument of no real competitive skirms for f2ps, the only thing that mentality does is prevent queuing, which means less f2p teams to face against, which leads to more pops against 28/29s.
The 28/29 versus games could easily be ignored through the add-on as well.

Love to see people interested in getting a ranked add-on going, and I would strongly suggest things like donating to whichever developer decides to take on the job
