RaF > MultiBoxing Programs/Addons

CIHC

That One OG
Anyone know some good, easy programs and addons for a person boxing 2 accounts?

I know I heard someone recommend one to somebody else, iirc he said it synced keystrokes ant sent them to all clients. Only posting in case nobody who knows sees this, because I know such programs do exist. GL finding it CIHC

Are you going to fight again that 4-boxer from Area52 or you just wanna try a new play style?

Maybe you can travel to Area52 and ask what program/addons he/her is using.

For questing and leveling, get Jamba: Jamba Addon It allows for things like watching other toons experience, auto picking flight services the master does for travel, and managing things like quests and trades between chars.

For sending keys to each window at once, the best free program is HotKeyNet: HotkeyNet: Home It will allow you to setup sending keystrokes to other windows, even on other machines on your network. There are some examples on the site to get you started.

If you want to get more indepth information about multi-boxing, check out Dual-boxing.com is a community of dual boxers and multi boxers playing various MMORPG games. They have extensive information on their forums and wiki about multiboxing. The majority of it is aimed at the end game and leveling towards it, but the same basic concepts apply to boxing at all levels.

I've multiboxed for most of my time in WoW, and I'm on dual-boxing.com.

I use Jamba (addon) and HotKeyNet (free, but you have to write scripts for it). I also used ISBoxer for a bit, but prefer HKN. It's OK once you've got the hang of how it works. You won't need half of the features a paid boxing software provides if you're only going to use level 20s. I managed to multibox 5 different classes through dungeons at 80, using only the features provided by HKN. That's a lot more complicated than running a group of 5 of the same class.

I can't recommend PWŃBoxer because of the company's business practices, and because pretty much everyone at Dual-Boxing.com recommends ISboxer over it (waits for half a dozen new accounts to respond to this post, astro-turfing for PWŃBoxer).

I use Keyclone and love it, It is really easy to set up, Just open it up and open your WoW windows, it will automatically sync them.

Now, as far as addons I haven't used any, I use simple macros to have my other characters follow and assist my main character and set them to a keybind.

/follow *main character

/assist *main character

There are more advanced macros but this gets it done for me.

i do not intend to muiltibox for that purpose. this is merely to make leveling ez moade due to my work. i have given thanks to people who helped me and possibly others on this forum.

That was me in "guild" chat. I use PWNboxer, since it's super easy to use. Tho I have to admit that I am unaware of the company's business practices, whether it be unethical or whatnot. Also, I've never tried ISboxer, and another popular option is KeyClone.

Just to clarify, I don't actively multi-box anymore; the last time I just did was when Starter Edition was first released, and I used up one of my "Free 10 days" things that blizzard gave to one of my inactive accounts, just to try it out. I made a Prot Pal, Resto Sham, and Fire Mage, and it was fun while it lasted, but the only slight annoyance was constantly having to create the focus macros every time one of the toons got a new spell/skill. It's not that big of a deal since u can copy and paste across different clients running, but it just slows down the progress of chain questing.

*** EDIT: ***

Okay, I just checked out ISboxer, and after watching the quick setup video on this link, it makes me want to use it over PWNboxer, lol. The fact that you don't have to mess around with all those damn focus macros (which can be time consuming, and I'm a fan of efficiency... to a fault), and how it lets you swap your lead character on the fly, pretty much makes it obviously superior to the PWNboxer program. But that's just my first impression of it. I'll have to actually try it out before I can say for sure that its the better choice; for myself that is.

Yeah ISBoxer was great for setting everything up automatically, because it has it's own addon for the game that makes all the macros for you. It also handles ground targetted AoE rather well, along with click healing from the master's window being sent to the slaves.

The only reason I stopped using it was because the default setup makes use of the left hand shift and ctrl keys as part of it's macros to say which character they should be sent to, and I already used those in all of my own macros. It's a great program if you don't mind using the default bindings, and has a huge potential if you take the time to learn how to customise it. I had HKN working really well though, and it would have taken me ages to get ISBoxer doing the same things.
