r.i.p. internet content

Edit: I’m updating the thread due to new light about the subject.
It might be counted as double posting, but it’s better to talk about it than sit and wait.

Original page:

thoughts?
[doublepost=1542328390,1542295213][/doublepost]... really? no thoughts over people that are in the eu wouldn’t be able to use big names sites like YouTube, Facebook, Twitch, Twitter, Google, Yahoo, MySpace, Reddit, or anyother site not mentioned here.

It's too early to get worried about. EU writes a law & a company flags that it may clash with their content.

It should be worked through and re-worded so that it doesn't block the entire EU from using the largest video streaming service in the world. However knowing the incompetence of our politicians this may take longer than it should/not happen.

It also has to be implemented at a national level for each individual member state, i.e. countries afaik. (haven't watched the video, but I know what the main concerns are when it comes to article 13 and 11)

Also some of it is merely poor wording, leading to speculation as to how it will actually affect the whole thing. I.e. the "meme ban" might go under "parodies", which are not hit by the copyright infringement law that would require the corps to filter the content. But we'll see I guess.

VPNs are so cheap, there is no point in caring about this.
1. why did you type this comment then?
2. not everyone knows the knowledge about VPNs, let alone how to get them.
