Many say this and some even delete their characters or sell the account, but most still come back. If you play anything too much it no longer is playing. Playing is a diversion from one's normal life activities. If playing becomes a large portion of your life you can expect to burn out....and post things like this if you are melodramatic.
An important key to doing anything for a long time is to do it in a balanced way. The only way you can become bored in a game is if it is no longer a game to you but something much more than it was intended to be. When you come back I suggest you limit your time so that you don't experience boredom in a game which is crazy when you think about it.
I love telling people that I play WoW, especially watching the expressions on peoples faces. I am 47, often wear suits and am a father of 5 with a beautiful wife. I have a lot of fun playing and wish I could play more...but there is that key. If you become too successful at playing WoW time wise you are setting up your eventual burn out. Same goes for reaching the top which illustrates another key to keeping the interest up. Guilds once they reach the perceived top often cool off or even disappear. It is the challenge that draws us, whether we consciously acknowledge it or not, and only too much success at spending time or gaining in-game accomplishments will diminish that interest.
Take some time off. Do some summer stuff! Have fun. See you when you get back...
