Questions for getting back in

  • I just started queueing 19s again and I'm in the process of gearing my feral druid for MoP. I have a couple of questions I was hoping someone could help me with.

    1) I've noticed that ally tends to have more dps and horde more healers in the 20-30 WSGs I've done recently. It also looks like horde PUGs tend to have more serious/better geared players queueing compared to ally. Is what I'm seeing generally true? When both sides have 8-10 experienced and geared players the games have been really good, but that's only about 1/3 of games that I've played in. Most of the rest have been horde dominated with only a few ally dominated ones.

    2) The toon I'm working on is ally but I'm transferring realms and to horde to join a specific guild. I've picked up the argas ring, the 3ag,5sta bracers from the darkshore questline, ello's band, and the WC/SfK quest rewards (can I get the caster ones from one side and the feral rewards from the other side?). Am I forgetting anything major to pick up before transferring?

    3) I have tunic of westfall (11 ag, 5 sta) and between that and the +13 stamina leather chest, is there any reason to bring the rogue heirloom chest when I transfer? I have plenty of hit from the hat/leg heirlooms and aquarius belt so it looks like the heirloom chest may not be that useful (I'd rather keep it with the other toons on the server it's on now).

    4) In the games I've played so far, I've wondered how useful an MP5 food buff might be versus stamina buff. I haven't tried it yet, but I've definitely been in a few pinches where I had 400-500 health left and no mana to heal/get away. Is anyone using MP5 buffs for feral druids? I'm sure I've been in pinches where I had 100 health left too and did get away, so I am just curious about other people's experience.

    1) Can not answer because I don't know whether your US or EU. Or then I missed it...

    2) Yes, you can repeat SFK quest when you change to horde, but NOT the wc quest. So be careful with what you pick. I'd choose the caster gloves unless you have jutebraids, because Serpentis gloves are BiS resto FC if you don't have jutes. Cobrahns boots are nice and all, but I'd rather get lynx for the AP for feral. Get an item named Keeshans Bandana from Redridge, it gives major fire/arcane resistances and can be handy sometimes. Or at least fun, if not useful. Other than that, I can't think of any but don't count on it 100% as I cba going through all the items right now.

    3) Yes, use tunic of westfall instead of loom chest at all times, if you have hitcap without loom chest. No reason to use loom agi chest for anything, maybe for feral/guardian FC but IMO +13 stam chest covers that better.

    4) I bet mp5 doesnt affect ferals/guardians incombat regen, it seems to be normalised at 2. If you're out of mana or almost out of mana, GET OUT OF COMBAT. You'll recover full 110 mana in about 10 seconds, when out of combat. In combat, you will never get full mana, that is unless you dont shapeshift or use any spells for 5 minutes, of course (yes I just calculated that lol). Might wanna stack some manapotions if you see going OOM as a major issue. Mana pots till get you full mana in 1 drink.
    TLDR: Don't get mp5 buffs, it's useless.

Thanks man - your answers are very helpful. I put US in the 'pre-fix' to the thread, but I've played a bit more and am getting a good sense of question #1 anyway.

if you pug alot....gearing feral, and specing res-spec with feline swiftness talent, imo is the way to go and most flexible. DPS is good, mana is never a issue and you will still have good heals in feral-agi set. i have 2 gear sets to switch as needed if i need to do stronger heals for team support. MOP gave res-druids (all druids) in cat form a low energy mangle, ferocious bite, and rake (bleed). i have played as a pure feral spec, res-spec is way more fun due to the insane survivability.
