Question: what weapons/spec, 19 rogue

:confused:I need a little bit help from some experienced twink, my question is rather simple.:confused:

What's better for a 19 rogue twink, Shadowfang/Assassin's Blade with 0/0/10 spec, or Shadowfang/Shadowfang with some damage spec.

Feel free to give your advice and example of that damage spec, thanks in advance.

0/3/7, 0/0/10 or a combat build

0/3/7 tbh mainly because my Aussie lat prevents me from crutch 2 ticks (I can only get 1 ticks on 600 ms)

Use x2 Lifestealing for WSG pugs(And for 1v1's vs most classes)

Use x2 Fiery for premades

Use LS/15agi, fiery/15agi, 15gi/15gi for RvR

i use 0/0/10 for RvR

0/3/7 for 1v1's

and 0/3/7 for WSG as i'm not a big fan of combat spec TBH.

Prefrence of course

AB hasnt been good in OH for a while, mostly used as an ambush weapon with 5wep dmg on it. As for which OH is good, i refuse to be drawn into the "is TB viable OH?" debate, however there are numerous threads about this so you should read one of those. If you have more than one SF i would put different enchants on them and use them for different weapon sets rather than go dual SF.

Use a thiefs blade OH w/ sharpening stone in WSG.

Very solid.

Also. Ew, consumables :/

Any rogue not rocking heavy sharpening stones in WSG should have their head examined.

I am waiting for rogues to stop being so self absorbed about 1v1 set ups and start worrying about being viable in WSG premades again. It is my opinion that rogues could be good again in premades provided they are set up correctly. To do this you have to think of two things. 1) you are going to be snared very quickly and won't be able to stay on the EFC for long becuase you also don't have travel forms. 2) maximizing your spec in order to do maximum damage for the time you are on the target.

To accomplish this I would suggest either full garrote spec and/or full ambush spec. I think Garrote can deal an insane amount of damage and really put some pressure on the EFC. Garrote is also a bleed effect that can't be removed by anything except the dwarf racial. Does anyone know how much damage this would do on a debuffed FC my guess is around 800-900 (single debuff) 900-1200 (double debuff)? All you would have to do is wait for him to pass by and then jump him with a single move.

I agree with the first part of your statement, however maximizing your spec and gear towards 1 dot on the FC is not worth it. Instead I would recommend a burst spec, where you stack crit/agility with at least 1 proc enchant. You then spec 5/5 crit, with the sinsiter strike glyph so one can build up combo points fast.

Yeah that could work too, i'm just wondering what would be the best "Trap" rogue spec. You're probably right with the weapon proc as long as it's not lifestealing.

If your using full sub, I dont think its worth using a 2nd Shadowfang without 5 pt's in the offhand dmg increase. Use a Cruel Barb in off for more AP, especially if your going to be using it for arenas, as you will be jousting a lot.

I have a dumb question. Waaaaaaaaaaaaay back pre-BC, pre-battlegroups, and pre-OP hunters, rogues were the standard. I seem to remember Shadowfang + Skeletal Club being the cookie-cutter-combo. What happened to the poor Club? Has something changed to make it not as good, or were the numbers just not analyzed very well back in those days?

5 points in OH damage is gimping yourself. And for garrote spec its 3/3 imp evis and 2/5 malice in the first tier not whatever juicy linked. Garrote spec rly does require you to be a NE and have stealth on cloak to keep up too.

Total Garrote Damage = (X + Attack power * 0.07) * modifier * 6

Damage per Tick = Total Garrote Damage / 6

x = 20 (rank 1 Garrote)

modifier = 1+ [.2 (for 2/2 Opportunity) + .3 (for 2/2 Blood Splatter) + .2 (for Glyph of Garrote] = 1.7

it's supposed to tick every 3 seconds for a duration of 18 seconds total, hence the "/6" but with glyph the Dmg/tick would be divided by 5.

So.. Attack Power is the main factor which increases Garrote damage therefor 2 Cruel Barbs w/ 15 agi each would give the most damage output

Learn to use the search function please, I will make a tutorial if need be.
