Question about mages..

    • So im leveling a mage, should I stop him at 70?

    Are mages good at 70?

    The only reason I ask is because I kept losing to ONE mage on my boomy, so I believe if I put enough time into a mage it can be deadly.. is that true?


    Plus i'd love to hear everyones opinion on mages.

    hehe so because you lost few duels against a mage means you have to roll one? i think you just did something wrong because a boomkin shouldn't lose to a mage. enough of that, mages has the best cc in the bracket, can kill anything in deep/cs but gets oneshotted by almost anything. so if you are a rager i wouldn't play it. thats why i played boomkin, because i never lost xd

    Well the losing to one made me notice that they are viable because I have yet to meet a good one.

    But Ive always liked the mage playstyle and when im playing boomy I think my biggest problem Is getting cast off vs mages.. I always feel cc'd and always on the defensive side
     
    Mages are good but as jicz said, can get blown up really fast. Youll have a hard time against hunters and rogues mostly.

    True dat, though DB generally fucked that combo up. Just force druid to trinket play defensively til DF and its gg from there. /cry

    Yea sounds fucking shit, though its nice they added a new class to the bracket, The 'Nifflevar bearded axe' sounds like a really balanced and well though out class with 3 very well thought out and balanced speccs; Warrior/Pally/DK, tell me which spec is most OP ?
     
    unless you have a killer talents at 74, imo right now in the 70-74 bracket it is best to be at 71 or 72. 74's get no gear +scaling bonuses like 70-73's get

    71's have second highest gear scaling (after a 70), but get full value on their gems. 159 gear scales to around 171 item level. nif axe (226) on a level-71 in a BG scale to a 238-item level

    72's some classes/specs get a good talent at this level, 159 gear scales....drops to 167 (same at 73).
