Side note: Not meaning to hyjack this thread, but since I cannot start a new one on my own and this one is kind of related (title at least) I have a quick question in regards to gearing a level 80 dk for pve (soloing). I have noticed a lot of people are gemming, reforging for haste which makes sense due to rune regeneration. My question is, are there certain numbers people tend to shoot for in terms of dodge, perry, mastery and haste? I am working right now on getting more gear in order to have options for the various bosses but for now I really only have one set of gear and would like to make sure it is optimized for general use (more survivability then dps at this point since I go blood). Follow up question then, I notice in people's armories that people are gemming and enchanting for haste not strength. Is there more of a dps increase this way or it it for rune regneratioin (which obviously can still be a dps increase)?

Back when I played 80, fire mages were going for haste for combustion dps. Plasmaz hit 1 mil dps in ICC25, that may be a reason, but I don't play 80 so I don't know the stats of what each has with MoP gear etc..
 
For most blood soloing, I'd recommend this stat priority:
Hit cap = Exp soft cap > Haste > Crit > Str

Can't remember where the exp hard cap goes in there (but you'll be hard capped anyway) and I'd recommend switching to crit after your haste starts reaching 60-65% fully buffed. The reason we favour secondary stats is because we already have high weapon damage from the 409 sword and high AP from vengeance.

Don't worry much about defensive stats. You'll easily have 75%+ avoidance thanks to the str->parry conversion and mastery is useless if you're avoiding most the hits (plus if you get a mastery Windsong proc, you'll cap out your Blood Shield pretty fast anyway). If you're struggling to survive and the boss doesn't require you to be avoidance capped, consider gemming/enchanting for str (physical) or stam (magical).

Edit: All the non-plate 409s are worth using for Blood DPS, except the belt.

I can't currently use Youtube to see some of your guides. Is there a guide for Blood DK to solo ICC25 (N/H) at level 80? Such as what they should be reforging? I have acquired all the best gear for my 80 DK...I just haven't taken him for a spin in solo land yet as I need to get infusions done. But I was thinking to solo for the shards once I get the infusions done.

Anyway currently i am at 60% parry chance and i was wondering how can i reach the 100% so i never get hit ??

Edit: damn it i need help badly, i die a lot to easy mobs or bosses, i die to anub'rekhan (first boss in naxxramas 10man) and also i died once when fighting both trash before Toravon (last boss in VoA 10man). It's really annoying ffs, only things i solo with ease are the hc dungeons.

I think the easiest way to think about what your stat priorities should be is to consider the stat cost of the marginal gain. It helps to use some refrence value, I use 105 because its easy. I like to use food/scroll buffs to push stats around to show the effect..

As an 80 with the 409 weapon, you are probably sitting on approximately 3000 strength. Look at your white dps, and lets say it shows something like 4000. now eat a 60 strength food to increase by 60. My white dps goes up by 14.
In order to get a 10% white dps (400) increase with 14dps costing 60 str, it means it takes 1714 str to gain a 10% dps increase.

Lets compare that to haste. Now when you will already have a fair bit of haste, in order to get a real 10% increase, you have to gain an extra 10% of your current value. Lets say we are at 30% haste right now, that means we need a 13% increase. 32.79 rating per percentage point, multiply that by 13.
It takes 426 haste rating to get a 10% dps increase.

You can do the same thing for crit to find it is also much cheaper then strength as a way to buff damage, (but it isn't as nice as haste.)
Starting at a crit of 30% means we need a 13% increase. At 45.9 rating per point, it takes 596 crit rating to increase my dps by 10%.

So for me, 10% extra dps costs 1714 str, 596 crit, or 426 haste.

This massive difference between the power of stregnth compared to haste makes the toad slime gloves 409 cloth intelect) give a dk higher dps then with any available plate glove. The same is true with the Agility hat.

With all that said, you may still want to stack strength....
It gives more parry chance, and that is the only way you will ever get up to 102.4% dodge + parry

That argument would work if we were DPS. We aren't, as we have access to vengeance. getting a 10% weapon damage gain from str is extremely difficult if you're already at around 100k AP. That's why haste/crit is better, because STR gives us next to nothing in comparison.

Oh, and 102.4% isn't a thing anymore.

Well, I think we solved the mystery of why my dk was randomly getting hit by Gluth when I was trying to solo it by waiting until enrage. Is the 109% including the boss's miss chance?

But yes, I was mostly referencing the power of strength for frost and unholy, and only for blood in non vengeance powered situations. (pvp, dungeons, low level raids, and against the dummy) And that even then without any vengeance its still 3 times weaker of a dps stat as haste. Pretty much the only reason to ever favor str is as a means to gain parry.

Haste is also a better survival stat whenever you have non parry-able damage. (Bleeds or magic) Haste gives more death strikes which is more health.
