Question about grandfathered items WOTLK to Cata

So by grandfathered you mean the items do not change stats if you own them in wotlk?

OR if they disappear in Cata but you own them in wotlk you still have them?


I will use Skullbreaker and Monkey Ring as examples.

Skullbreaker is a really good rogue weapon in cata but not wotlk.

Monkey Ring quest is obtainable at level 22 in wotlk but 30 in cata.

Please explain -- time is short!!!

tldr

grandfathered items from wotlk will remain in cata if you have collected them

some stats change (which is why certain GF items become bis in cata but are dog in wrath). these also remain

so they do change--sweet. might as well as it would be unobtainable at 29 after the switch. I have the Razzic Racing gloves and Raptor Tunics -- I think the Raptor tunic changes for the worse.
