PTR Ret paladin wep Testing

Hey everyone . A few days ago a couple of guildies and myself wondered if all this talk of Nightblade versus Pendulum of Doom was true . Soo i decided to go to the PTR and give it a test !

And my results are as follows :

Nightblade ^^

Pendulum of Doom ^^

I used exactly the same gear in both tests , Savagery on the POD and Crusader on the Bar (because it is faster and procs ALOT more )

Now time for some numbers !

We will start off with Nightblade.

Nightblade :

Melee : 45.8 % (25 Hits) ((68% hit , 32 % Crit))

Seal of Command : 33.4% (45 Hits)

Excorcism : 11.9% (5 Hits )

Judgement of Command : 6.2 % (10 Hits)

Shadow Bolt : 2.8% (2 Hits )

Max crit : 682

Total DPS : 230.7

Interestingly enough , seems NB favours RNG a little :p I crit alot more than my 19.50% crit stats showed ( 32% to be exact )

And now onto Pendulum of Doom :

Melee : 38.4 % (16 Hits) ((75% hit , 25 % Crit))

Seal of Command : 33.7% (36 Hits)

Excorcism : 11.7% (5 Hits )

Judgement of Command : 11.3 % (10 Hits)

Fatal Wound : 5.0% (3 Hits )

Max Crit : 853 (got a 1027 WHITE crit on a lvl 1 dummy self buffed earlier:p)

Total DPS : 265.8

Conclusion :

POD is clearly a much better weapon , far higher hits , far better DPS . The way the new SOC is , it counts off your TOP end Weapon dmg , not DPS .

So to all those of you out there that said NB will be better for a paladin , I would say to you rather stick to your slow weapons as you allways have done . They are STILL better for you .

Thanks alot for reading , hope it helped a little bit .

<- confused.

SoC is a proc on every hit now right?

why are there so much SoC damaging attacks in both setups?

and you tested ~1,5-2min with every weapon...not really viable data imo.

at least around 6dps difference are a result of one more weapon proc.

only the judgement seems to make the difference.

can you add LoA and BB?

Seams to be very bugged atm and SoC is proccing multiple times from itself.

ratio -> melee hit : SoC

NB -> 1:1,8

PoD -> 1:2.25

if this is true, it is easy to get a higher dps^^

ratio -> melee dmg : SoC dmg

NB -> 1 : 0,73

PoD -> 1 : 0,88

should be allways 1:0,36

i dont think this data is viable enough to say PoD > NB. the only thing that is noticable is a significant higher judgement dmg on PoD.

edit:

lets do something more with the numbers we have...

9174/25=366,96

366,96x1,36=499,0656

499,0656/2,8=178,24

7938/16=496,125

496,125x1,36=674,73

674,73/4=168,68

->9,56dps diff.

without taking judgements and weapon procs into account the nightblades dps is higher.

weapon proc differs by 100. as long as i dont have other data lets say both procs have 5% chance and can occur on white, exo and judgement.

1,25 procs on 300 = 375

375/60=6,25

1,55 procs on 200 = 310

310/60=5,17

-> 1,08dps diff.

9,56-1,08=8,48dps pre judgements.

1239/5=247,8

247,8/15=16,52

2340/5=468

468/15=31,2

->14,68dps diff.

14,68-8,48=6,2dps

6,2dps more dmg from PoD if judgements go live favouring slow weapons.

i dont think a NB ever was THAT good.

Those 2 screenies are quick ones . i have done 2 X 20 mins tests on EACH wep . Those 2 stats are the average of 5 tests overall . and the screenshots were closest to average anyways , hence why I uploaded them .

Which is important aswell. I mean, it's twice as high!

Edit: talking Judgement damage here.

i editet in some theoretical maths.

6,2dps diff NB<->PoD is a HUGE buff for lolrets...even if judgements go live in this way.

Thats not very much of a wide range, i would feel al ot better if you ran around for an hour testing the weapons

Thanks for the great info mortox!

is there anyway you can try nightblade with savagery? that would give both setups the same ap.

and could you test LoA? I mean if none of this is possible its fine :) Thanks again for the analysis

Well , if its more info you want , its more info you will get ! i will do ALL 39 weapons available to a 39 paladin . Excluding Bonebiter sadly as I took the sword instead :p

Ill get savagery on all weps too then . Stay tuned :p
