pros and cons of f2p community.

I swear, some of the new people on AP are so clueless. They log in and say "Any Premades?!" "Can I get an inv to a premade?". Do you know what Mialu, one of the vets, says when he logs in? "Lets get some premades going!" It is ridiculous.

Whenever I'm online, you'll see me asking for premades or arenas. Just react on it and keep active in chat. On the other hand, you have to think pro-active aswell. Nobody withholds you from spamming a 100 times in chat for more people for premades. Eventually they'll bite.



If you want to play in any of my premades, just give me a poke, but don't think I'll do everything for you ofc

Pros: Us 24s can kill everyone.

Cons: F2Ps troll and whine because they don't realise they are playing a sample of a game.

I don't see the quandary here.



1) Free account, all it uses up is an email address.

2) Max level 20. Takes no time really.

3) Reasonable gear for PVP is fairly quick to get too.



I can't play much and I don't wanna jump into the xp locked BGs until I feel I'm not a drag on my team. So I BGd at 12 to get enough honor for my PVP trinket and rune and then finished leveling. Got decent quest gear and started doing instances. You pretty much average a BiS piece per instance run to start, at least I have. That includes the few I have had to drop out of due to bad groups. I'll have to check my /played to see how much actual time I've dumped in so far, which includes getting used to the game again. I took a year off. Still getting used to pallies having finishing moves 0.0.



I should be on track to start BG grinding for my BoA shoulders by weekend, maybe.



Again, I'm a fairly casual player. Wife, 3 month old, stepson, full time job, ect. So you mileage may vary.

Community is cool you can chat and hook up. The problem with f2p.. there is no good way to discourage antisocial behavior. Players who are "sorta jerks" would seldom really act out in p2p... in f2p, drama is extreme, trolls are empowered, and elitism rules.



I miss a few specific friends from AP, but a couple flaming asshats poorly behaved players ruined it for me on AP. I rolled a pile of new toons on other servers and put AGMs on everybody.... mostly its solo play... my play schedule is erratic. I might get to play 20 hours on a weekend and get a couple hours on week nights...

I haven't played on AP since August. Maybe the biggest problems players have moved on.



Actually, the most common 'antisocial' problems in f2p are not "arguments" as much as elitism, unhelpful criticism, personal attacks, and a refusal to consider that anyone's opinion might be valid if it differs from yours.

Pros: Community is nice, constant premades available, takes very little time to reach 20 and grab some blues



Cons: Little chance of getting AGM without annoying some of the vets



I may be biased however, I haven't had chance to try AP alliance yet, I'm enjoying horde way too much ^^

He might be trolling, but he's not incorrect. There's definitely some vile behavior in this bracket. I've never been on the receiving end of it, but I've definitely witnessed it. Some of it is the usual 'I know more about this game than you', but it branches off into even uglier territory sometimes. The few bad apples don't spoil the bunch, though.

I'm still part of the community, when people ask questions like that of which are in this thread, I give them truth. Most people forget that it's an opinion or start a flame war because I think differently than they do. Clearly I'm a part of this community dispite what I say about it because there is good in it.
