I'm looking to make a 24 druid and I'm wondering what the pros and cons are of the diff specs.

Any and all help is appreciated

Feral- feral has a high opener but I feel a rogue has more CDs to last in a longer fight than a feral can.

Boomkin - strong for support very helpful to have on O with offensive heals, dots, and the ability to nuke FCs while keeping others alive. Def not a glass canon.

Resto- I feel resto is the weaket healer since they rely on hots don't get me wrong swift mend is amazing but with that on cd there is not much you can do

Just to add to what ochimaru was saying for balance, another con is that as balance you rely on arcane and nature spells as your output for damage, and (Against an ideal team) everyone you play against will have at least 8 resist against both from their gnomer rings, and an extra 5 arcane resist from leather users and above using the emissary cuffs.

+5 resist on cloak as well.

alright ill dish it out for you guys in one consice post.

I will not be ranking these agains each other but rather agains other classes because each spec is crucial at different places

Feral- vs rogue

so pro 1= more damage then rogue (higher burst and damage after)

pro 2 = shifting through a conc shot or other slows

pro 3 = self heals and a roots

pro 4 = thorns ( on a fc it does mad damage )

con 1 = less mobility then a rogue

con 2 = less interupts

con 3 = no vanish

Verdict= a feral just simply takes more planing before u open becuase you dont have that " o **** i didnt see that hunter right there .... lawls vanish"

Balance vs mage

pro 1 = stealth

pro 2 = higher possible hits

pro 3 = self heals

pro 4 = tavel form for quick getaway

con 1 = no scilence or caster neutralizing cc

con 2 = most people have very high nature resistance and arcane since gnomer rings and leather bracers and racials.(to overcome this you can get spell pen trink and 20 spell pen on parachute cloack)

con 3 = no slow( while a roots is very nice u dont have any movement speed reducing spells like frostbolt)

verdict = weaker against spell casters and about even with mele versus a mage but due to your stealth ability you can get over to a fc and position urself strategically against others .

Resto vs pally and priest and sham

pro 1= tavel form + hots = mobility

pro 2 = stealth

pro 3= roots

con 1= significanly less heals when hard casting

con 2 = you dont have a fear bomb or stun or bubbles for those tight situations

verdict = resto druids have a hard time getting out of those tight situations when you have many ppl on you . fortunately they have stealth and travel form to stay at the edge of fights and roots to keeep ppl away . and nothing says hard to kill like not being around to kill.

Feral: Faceroll Easy. If you can't figure out how to use Ravage, Mangle, and FB then there's just something wrong with you.

Resto: I would suggest you not to heal as Resto. Simply gear as a FC. Priorty is stam but dont be afraid to lose a few points in stam to gain a lot more int. And use a BoA Wep w/ SP.

Boomkin: In the right hands, an ultimate support class. They can do everything. Single-Target Burst dmg(w/ Haste CDs), Two Different DoTs, Offheal, CC(Roots), Thorns, and of course Travel Form(if needed u can also FC in a similar way as a Resto Druid would). Never Underestimate a Support Class Boomkin.
