Profession buffs and perks

Guild Master
  • At level 50 you get some pretty unique profession buffs. You can reach 375 in every profession, which opens up some interesting and unique buffs.

Alchemy - Mixology. Very useful if you like to farm mats or buy lots of elixirs/flasks. Remember you have to learn the elixir/flasks first, however.

Blacksmithing - Gives some decent Bind on Pickup crafts, only thing close to Best in Slot are Earthforged Leggings and Windforged leggings. If you intend to pick up these items I recommend dropping the profession right after.
    Other crafts:
Light Earthforged Blade - Item - World of Warcraft
Light Emberforged Hammer - Item - World of Warcraft
Light Skyforged Axe - Item - World of Warcraft
Ornate Thorium Handaxe - Item - World of Warcraft

Engineering - This profession has a boatload of consumable goodies, but as far as gear goes this is THE Best in Slot profession for EVERYONE. The headpiece it provides is an immense advantage, along with the trinkets. Everyone will have to stack up on bombs (Saronite Bomb - Item - World of Warcraft), so we can take out a chunk of health on each trash pull from the start.

    Head
Foreman's Enchanted Helmet - Item - World of Warcraft - Best caster tank PvP headpiece.
Foreman's Reinforced Helmet - Item - World of Warcraft - Best tanking headpiece against mobs that stun.
Gnomish Battle Goggles - Item - World of Warcraft - Best physical DPS goggles.
Gnomish Power Goggles - Item - World of Warcraft - Best caster DPS goggles.
Power Amplification Goggles - Item - World of Warcraft
Cogspinner Goggles - Item - World of Warcraft - (...of Stamina +88) variant is best in slot for PvE encounters without stun mechanics.
Ultra-Spectropic Detection Goggles - Item - World of Warcraft - Probably the best PvP goggles.
Hyper-Vision Goggles - Item - World of Warcraft - Use effect allows you to see stealth as a level 60.
    Boots
Rocket Boots Xtreme Lite - Item - World of Warcraft - Eligible for Wrath enchants.
Rocket Boots Xtreme - Item - World of Warcraft - Eligible for Wrath enchants.
    Waist
Nigh-Invulnerability Belt - Item - World of Warcraft - Switch out every 5 minutes for it's use effect.
    Trinket
Sonic Booster - Item - World of Warcraft - Gnome Only
Noise Machine - Item - World of Warcraft - Gnome Only
    Tinkers
Personal Electromagnetic Pulse Generator - Spell - World of Warcraft - Gnome Only
Flexweave Underlay - Spell - World of Warcraft - Gnome Only
Frag Belt - Spell - World of Warcraft - Gnome Only

Herbalism - Lifeblood - Spell - World of Warcraft

Mining - Toughness - Spell - World of Warcraft

Skinning - Master of Anatomy - Spell - World of Warcraft

Leatherworking - 2 Bind on Pickup leg craftables are available, one of which is best in slot for certain setups. Also provides Drums of Battle which act as a mini-bloodlust every 2 minutes, along with other Drums. Essentially an extra set of spells to buff or heal the group. At least one Leatherworker will be necessary per 5 people.

Drums of Battle - Item - World of Warcraft - Party haste buff (9.90%)
Drums of Panic - Item - World of Warcraft - AoE fear
Drums of Restoration - Item - World of Warcraft - Party heal
Drums of Speed - Item - World of Warcraft - Party speed buff

Blackstorm Leggings - Item - World of Warcraft - Best in Slot physical DPS PvP leggings.
Wildfeather Leggings - Item - World of Warcraft

Enchanting - Smoking Heart of the Mountain - Item - World of Warcraft is the only thing you gain by leveling this profession. Arguable best in slot for some DPS. Drop the profession once you get this trinket.

Jewelcrafting - An assortment of JC only trinkets are available.

Figurine - Ruby Serpent - Item - World of Warcraft - Great for healers in raids.
Figurine - Black Pearl Panther - Item - World of Warcraft - Great for Rogue PvP.
Figurine - Golden Hare - Item - World of Warcraft - Great for PvP.
Figurine - Emerald Owl - Item - World of Warcraft
Figurine - Truesilver Boar - Item - World of Warcraft
Figurine - Truesilver Crab - Item - World of Warcraft
Figurine - Jade Owl - Item - World of Warcraft

Tailoring - No benefit at this level.

Inscription - No benefit at this level.

I think cogspinner goggle is Bis for str dps too even it's leather, i can confirm you can get ''of the bear/str'' version, got it on my 59 dk some months ago. Also you can use 10 stamina kit on those goggles and send them to your twink. http://old.wowhead.com/item=23758 here you can see list of posibble random enchants.
I think cogspinner goggle of stamina is bis tanking head cuz u can enchant that with 10 stamina which results 98 stamina from head piece, which is amazing.

ps. u listed Hyper-Radiant Flame Reflector - Item - World of Warcraft it requires 53lvl.

edit2: I think alchemy deserved extra shout out, mixology will be really useful because 50lvl will be able to use 4 diffrend flasks http://www.wowhead.com/items=0.3?filter=minrl=50;maxrl=50#0-2+1 which give really nice buffs.

FIxed, thank you! But I believe that the 10% resistance to Stuns will be good in raids, if I recall there are quite a few mobs that stun.

how do you guys plan to get the Sha'tar to honored to get the recipe for it?
Fortunately for us the drums aren't BoP!

We could probably clear trash by just having everyone spam those bombs. Will save a lot of time.

Aye and it's dps increase in bosses too i remembe you can use saronite bomb + belt tinker bombs and sametime, if everyone in raid does that, trash will go down pretty fast :D

i think you should stop saying physical dps and break it up into agi vs str
like gnomish battle goggles...only bis for a plate class if you want crit. otherwise you can get a helm like faceguard of the crown or mugthols which have str (ap) and hit + give armor proficiency. or something like cogspinners of the beast/bear/etc if armor proficiency isnt worth it.
same goes for blackstorm leggings. they rock for leather melee dps who need hit but suck for plate...unless youre dying for hit. and mail users have windforged leggings among other options

cant switch belts in combat so nigh-invul. looses some value...but i guess its still worth to list

and finally, how do you figure smoking heart of the mountain is bis for dps. theres not a huge selection of trinkets, but theres still some good ones out there, for example: power/strength of the high chief, high-powered flashlight, goblin rocket launcher, the gnome only ones from engineering, essence of eranikus, etc. i just dont see how a trinket with 17 crit is BiS with all those other options....viable? i suppose. but i wouldnt use it over all those unless i was absolutely dying for 1.5% crit

Good points, going to have to reword a few things in the post. Thanks.

Just a thought we should probably stock up on, Brilliant Wizard Oil - Item - World of Warcraft or Brilliant Mana Oil - Item - World of Warcraft for healers and dps.

Yeah, only too bad the oils are discontinued and no longer obtainable since WotLK.Also regarding consumeables it's kinda funny that so many of us are off-realm, because I just recently stacked our gbank with 4700 saronite bombs with only 2-4 of raiders having access to them. I am putting in soon couple of stacks of flasks and foods, yet again we are only so little peeps on Spinebreaker so there's not much demand for different consumeables o_O

Actually my friend still has the recipe, so I'm all clear on my server :p But sorry didn't notice that also apparently they dont stack with flasks....which is also unfortunate.

Oddly enough there is a quest that rewards ONE oil, which casters can save if they're unable to get anymore for our C'thun takedown.
