Prince Thunderaan vs a raid of 20s

Are you interested in a chance to take down Prince Thunderaan?

EDIT: due to increasing RL workload and not a sufficient level of interest, I'm sad to say that I need to cancel the event for the time being. I won't complete it myself, so the event remains a possibility at a future time. Thank you who showed active interest in this from the get-go and I apologise for letting you down by cancelling the event. :(

In a stroke of blind luck, my 90 lock got both Bindings of the Windseeker recently. These are needed to summon Prince Thunderaan, a ? lvl boss who spawns when the corresponding quest is turned in. This opens up a unique opportunity for the EU community to engage in battle with a boss that is part of a vanilla legendary questline- and it would be foolish not to use this opportunity to further the awesomeness of 20s.

That being said, who would be interested in fighting said boss? Go from a theoretical standpoint, "when", "how" and other similar questions will come into discussion later on.

By now, I think it's reasonable to talk about date as well. I'm aiming toward 1st/2nd/3rd May, time is still not fixed, but I will try to set it so that as many people (both EU and US) could join.

I'm working on the exact roster, but there are 15 people at the very least who would be interested. Right now we need a few more healers, disc/rsham would be nice.
Classes that are needed more:
a tank or two. At least one more prot warr, a tank druid could also be good.
hunts and rets for primary DPS
2-3 locks for combat res. Wowhead said that apparently Chaos Wave can't miss, but i don't know how reliable wowhead info on that is. can someone test this out?
might try to sneak in a rogue to try to get slow debuff, but max 3 rogues. no more. does kick always land?
warriors- go stam heavy. arms/fury- bring a tanking set, with shield, might be needed for emergency taunting.

also, US people- if interested, contact me. we can do this thing if more people join. EU Horde reroll would be necessary though, as I can't invite from US realms.

Some further notes: I have no idea about how hard he would melee. I don't know whether Wowhead info on his abilities (numbers) is reliable either.

World bosses are fun! I used to do them with Warcraft Hunters Union all the time. Took two full raids of level 19 hunters to take down Fel Reaver. And that was back when hunters had mana!
Unfortunately, I am afraid it would be next to impossible for a level 20 to take out a level 63 NPC post 6.0.

In.

I think it will be not impossible. Once me as priest and 2 bm monks took Pyrricion, a Lvl 50 Drake in Wetlands.
So, I think its doable, maybe a lot miss, but unless he ahs some berserk mode it should be killable by a 20 raid.

So, I will join eventually.

Forget it. Past 6.0 you can't hit high level mobs anymore.

As I wrote in my previous post, we took down Pyrricion, a lvl 50 boss, with just 3 people. I know it has not many hp. The most important thing is to taunt him, so 2 or more tanks are needed absolutely.

I killed pyricon as a lv 20 hunter....

EDIT : In WoD !

Is that mob hard level 63 or is it a level ??
If the latter, wouldn`t that dynamically scale with the respective players` levels?

i think level ?? just means it is more than 10 levels above you. if you are within level it will say the actual level

It's a boss, meaning it's not a hard lvl 63.

copypasted from wowhead, prince thunderaan comments (different comments)
All raid bosses - aka ? mobs are considered 3 levels above the person attacking them, for the purposes of all calculations. Which would mean for a lvl 70 it would be effectively a lvl 73 mob. But for a lvl 60 it would effectively be a 63 mob.
the lvl is for the sake of calculating dodge/parry/to miss/to hit/defense/block etc etc - those sorts of things, ratings based stuff :)
Bosses are 3 levels higher then the highest level character in the zone, but only for measuring hit, crit, miss and evasion rates.

This means that hit/miss wise you will be going up vs a lvl 93 boss. This would also mean that if there would be no other 20+ chars in the zone, then you would essentially not miss, if I understood it correctly. However, since I have to pull him on a lvl 90 lock (who has the quest), lock gets put into combat and can't fly away to make it easier to hit.
