Pre-Patch is hopeless.

Hello,
I'm making this thread in regards to the pre-patch being dogshit which was discussed heavily today on Fearthebuns' twitch ( twitch.tv/fearthebuns ).
I've been playing world of Warcraft since 2006, since then I've been playing twinks, mainly 19, I used to love making new gear sets with different statistics as in arcane resis set,
Max AP, max dodge, and so on and so fourth. But with the removal of a lot of these stats I went on to play endgame for a bit. However I tried out legion got best in slot on my 19 Druid, aswell as worlds first 19 Druid exalted with AB.
I don't understand why they made this ilvl shit and not just set stats like how does a Ilvl 40 chest with 16 int benefit a rogue more than tunic of west fall? That just tilts me!
Anyway to come back to the point I'm not quitting wow however I'm looking for another game in its category to play that is quite similar, popular and enjoyable. It doesn't have to be replica but to be quite quite similar to it.
Please and Thanks.
/ Mark.

rift isnt that bad if your pc is somewhat decent, you can play it for free, lvl a char from 10-64 (i think 65 is maxlvl) via bgs(aka warfronts) and then quit/do it again with another char because endgame is the worst shit youll ever see in a mmorpg(especially endgame pvp)

Hmm okay, thank you Madhombre!

Another person on TI that thinks they are "world's first" and a quitting thread to boot.
one, this isn't ti, this is xpoff. two, this isn't a quitting thread, he makes valid points about why he isn't enjoying the game and asks for similar games he could play. in every quitting thread, there's always a mocking comment from you which is as futile as the thread itself

XPOff is TI...

To be honest, there is no MMO out there other than WoW. I've tried quite a few, and none of them really lives up to what WoW delivers, despite the horrible changes it has gone through over the years. However, I will recommend some other games and give valid points to why I am recommending them.

My recommendations would be the following: League of Legends, Dota 2 and Overwatch.

Here's why: When it comes to playing a level 19 twink, a lot of the things that makes a good player isn't necessarily the mechanical skill. The bracket itself offers very few buttons to press. This means that a lot of players will shine in different aspects, such as awareness, map control, on-the-fly teamwork, positioning and much more. Things that are as important in endgame, but easily overlooked by the flashy play of a rogue cc'ing an entire team etc.

The games that I mentioned are very similar to these skills, especially MOBAs like League of Legends and Dota 2. Limited spells, just like level 19 pvp, "gear sets" in terms of items that you build depending on the situation, just as you do on your 19. Some "champions/heroes/characters" might require good mechanical play to a certain extent, but still, it is reminiscent of level 19 pvp in those terms.

Now, I mentioned Overwatch. Despite Overwatch being an FPS game, it has so much more to offer than your average FPS that requires good aim. Don't get me wrong, aim certainly helps, but just as mechanical play is a limited thing at level 19, having a good aim in Overwatch will only help you get so far. Other things Overwatch require is cooldown management, objective-based teamplay, map movement etc. Again, things that are very reminiscent to that of a level 19 twink.

I hope some of this helped. I certainly feel some of your points myself.

XPOff is TI...
Perhaps in sentimentality but in a practical sense TI merged into XPOFF.

Edit: I know many people feel that it is also a different social environment. I know for a fact it is very different from a staff member perspective.

If you are looking for a new MMO, GW2 is the best. There is both casual and hardcore endgame and the playerbase is much MUCH less toxic than WoW or LoL players. The entire base game is free and there are tons of classes and specializations to choose from. It's my second pick for Best MMO, under WoW, just because I've played WoW for a long time. Third pick is Tera for its action combat system, but the endgame playerbase is a bunch of hardcore salt factories that WILL kick you if you are undergeared (in LFD PuGs).

Guild wars xd
nice joke.

i know some people that quitted WoW for mount & blade and they cant back to WoW
some people say its hard to look back at MMO's pvp once you have tried this game, im definitely buying it instead of legion

you wont find any MMO with both in-depth gear theorycrafting and decent pvp that is worth playing (not p2w)
games with extensive gear progression are either heavily focused on pve, or the pvp combat is too bad
albion online is my last hope in this genre, and they already disappointed by turning the f2p model to freemium with wow-token like currency

MOunt and blade is utterly shit.. If you want one of those games play war of the roses yet that game is dying due to devs stopped giving shit.

Correct, might as well state that Datsun is not Nissan.

I missed that he was not quitting in my haste. Of coarse there is a mocking comment in a quitting thread. Quitting threads are pleas for attention, I grant them their wish. The OPs should be grateful.

Now back to subject at hand. We already have several threads stating our impressions of the pre-patch. And even one suggesting people to go to other brackets, which is what have I chosen to do for the time being. WoW has so much more to offer than just PvP. Has the OP gotten the Herald acheivement? Ran AQ on a level 50? Made a million gold on a new server? If you like WoW then you will find things to do. If not, then WoW may not be the game for you any more.

To answer the OP's question I had a good friend of mine that I have been raiding and playing WoW with since Vanilla, he recently got tired of the game and started playing League of Legends.
