I love Blackvenom only 1 thing most people don't know . If you use in stealth and it procs . It will throw you out of stealth . So use wisely

then it's definitely NOT bis. that's the deal breaker right there.

It's one of the best offhand but it's situational. There's really no best in slot , it depends on play style. Gear and talent wise. There no true best in slot or talent spec . Thats my view . To each their own.

In order for the weapon to proc, u have to attack with it.... Once you attack as a rogue in stealth... You are no longer in stealth? Idk.. Maybe I don't know what you're trying to say.
On the other hand, it seems pretty crap for rogues anyway.. A DoT which will break your gouges = sucky

Even sap would apply the DoT?

just an educated guess. because sap procs Porcelain Crab - Item - World of Warcraft on my 80 rogue.

If you're looking for the dot proc the Toxic Revenger does the same thing and to people around, so you might even uncover a druid or rogue. The DPS is higher, but lacks the 8 agi. The agi is the only thing that makes it appealing to me.
