it's rated 'R'

"CONTAINS SOME ADULT MATERIAL. PARENTS ARE URGED TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THE MOTION PICTURE BEFORE TAKING THEIR YOUNGER CHILDREN WITH THEM.

GENERALLY, IT IS NOT APPROPRIATE FOR PARENTS TO BRING THEIR YOUNG CHILDREN WITH THEM TO R-RATED MOTION PICTURES."

You're still a child, how does being 14 years old mean that you are now allowed to watch R films?

Hmm, then again I live in Canada, and the ratings are usually different from the states so....

Growing up in oakland, R rated movies were a family affair with a bunch of screaming niglets running amok in the theater. It's all in where you live man.

well... I'm not saying it's illegal. Anyone can go to an 'R' movie as long as they are accompanied by a parent, but just asking why would a parent allow a child to see something they aren't mature enough.

Apparently that seems to be the problem with today's society. Kids grow up way too fast, but it's like a pendulum and we're swinging back to pre-50's. There's always something that shifts the way society acts; pre-50's was WWII, so everyone was very conservative and kept children safe and treasured life so they kept a short leash on them, but in the olden days if you read history, once a female hit there 1st period they were prime for making children, so they would wed at 12-14 yrs old and young pre-teen males were nearly men. Maybe it won't be that extreme, but I digress.

My kids are 5 & 9 and I can barely bring myself to show them PG-13 movies.

Maz, 14 seems pretty young to you, even to me now, but age doesn't always equate to maturity (and vice versa). At 14 I dropped out, got emancipated, and started living on my own and supporting myself. All in all, rated R seems like a small thing to all the other parts of life that can force kids to grow up.

blah blah blah

what in the hell are you talking about. people pre and post 50s didnt keep leashes on their kids. back in the day kids had WAY more freedom....all the stories from parents about how they were free to be out all day at least until it started getting dark (dinner time) with no accountability in between, seeing as there were no cell phones.

nowadays 12 year olds have gps cell phones and cant fuckin sneeze without their parents knowning. cant trick or treat cuz the bad men are out there either. mass media and scare tactics make parents nowadays scared of everything and make them keep a leash on, if anything we should be going back to the old days and take a breath and not worry so much.

pa3 should be rated pg13 anyways, movie is hardly scary.

I was disappointed in this movie. The part that was meant to be scary (or at least I think) was not scary...at all. Kinda expected more out of the ending too, but eh, I will divulge details in case some people haven't seen it. I really haven't seen a horror movie I liked in a looong time now.
