Orc Shaman @19 role?

I'm trying to get a understanding of the role I'm supposed to play. I can see so far I can kill clothies 1v1 but die to all other classes Rogues, Warriors, Pallys and Hunters that kite real good. I havent tried really kiteing myself but I could see I would have to against mele classes.
I see droping totems helps my team and shocking healers and purging don't get me started on the tremor totem just doesnt feel like it works.

I've been playing kamikaze not sure why maybe because I have a axe and shield problem is I die quick.
I started off thinking I could sub hp for dps but now I see that ain't smart so I will be enchanting stam and go with hp librams. I have no problem playing my role right just trying to see if I'm doing it wrong.

Get lots of hp and spam purge. Purge purge purge. Shock healers. Earthbind totem is also great.

Tanky shock bot is a great way to go. Throw on a thorium shield spike for when you get jumped on by rogues and warriors.

You can do some fair damage too with LB shock combo but you're mainly a utility tank boi

From what i have experienced, we are just a super support class... We don't really do that much damage, we can, but i've found enabling every other class to do dmg is better. Tremor does work, its just really weird to use haha... Basically, it works with 1 instant pulse once casted, which will take everyone in your 5man party out of any fear. After the first pulse, it pulses every 3 seconds until expires or killed. Once you figure out how to use it, it is actually pretty nice.

For shocks, i will typically stay in frontline so i can interupt poly/fear/heals(a lot less common if healer has good positioning). I also want to pay attention to fears, as i can tremor them from my team, or pre-emptively cast for myself if getting feared... In times where there is a lul, i will cast flame shocks to get some damage out, but mainly i will be healing/supporting the team until given the chance to actually get melee.

There is a lot more to it... but i'd rather just discuss other places as it is a lot i'd think.

This is all based on primarily premade gameplay, as shaman is not as usefull in a non-premade scenario. (It's not a very enjoyable pug class)

That's my problem I mostly solo. I'm coming from a 39 Frost Mage TBC, 29 Disc Priest TBC, 65 DK in WoTLK (purposely lvl 65 to show how op they where) and now a 29 SPriest Classic and my first entry into 19s this Shaman. Point is I'm so use to destroying and now I find myself being destroyed and figuring out what I can do to help. Don't get me wrong I enjoy other roles for example I turned my 39 Mage into a unkillable arcane flag carrier oh the God o days.

Earthbind totem to assist FC
Evocator dagger with fiery for quick swings to annoy their healers
Purge all their buffs to annoy
be awesome, and heal your buddys!

since no one has commented ill try my hand and let them flame me instead of you.

assassins blade on shamans serves little to no purpose. evocator gives stats you need. as shaman ur goal is to live, purge, root, and heal when u are needed.
im not saying you cant use it, but shamans aren't utilizing the blade effectively. evocator blade, imo, is better stat wise.
I have NOT played a shaman, but I feel shadowfang would be better, even then id still go evocator blade with any enchant is better than either shadowfang or assassins blade.

Your job is to make priests and pally's lifes hell pretty much. Priests will hate you the most. Just spam purge on them and watch them die. Also great support class. Stack stam/Int/SP orhealing as your primary stats and dont worry too much about DPS. Dot rogues and heal your allies, drop a lot of earthbind totems. Its a really fun class. You can kill more classes 1 on 1 than you think. Just stay alive with heals and widdle them down slowly, dont let them heal. Consider yourself a healing / support class that can interupt spells, dispel, slow, and dot.

Shamans can't use Shadowfang, but can use Skeletal Club. However, attack speed + pushback is maybe more important than basic damage. I would just stack Int/Stam and use a Purge or Shock every GCD that you aren't spinning totems. Without Frost Shock, Ghost Wolf, and any relevant poisons to cure in this bracket...idk Shamans seem super underwhelming to play outside of group queues. Also, like Druids this class seems heavily neutered until +22 Int comes out.
