Optimal haste breakpoint?

a 2.5 second cast time spell requires around 22-23% haste to get down to 2.0 seconds. I figure if you are going to use holy light a lot maybe aim for that.

would be nice if more people joined the actual discussion (purpose of this thread is to incite discussion) with numbers instead of saying meaningless things like

"i am glad my witty and sarcastic remarks helped you in the right direction here"

so, no, you weren't helpful.
Ontopic as a class without a HoT haste is one of those feely-craft stats where you find a point that's comfortable for you. I like a higher haste number on my hPal since it helps with beacon swapping during heals since it lowers the gcd. If you aren't sporadically swapping beacon and are happy with your cast times then you'd probably get more bang for your buck with crit or vers.

yup i swap beacon all the time, especially now that i bind it to my consecration key where i can just mouse over the friendly target and swap beacon. (thanks to @Chey for the macro tips that helped with this)

but i think in 9.1, whether you can get light's grace off by successfully casting holy light will be the difference between life and death, so i am making sure i am prepared for this new playstyle where i cast holy light over and over (on myself and my teammates)

This isn't a new playstyle though... people have been doing this all along even when it was 5% per cast

Ofc ;), btw we need to Q again

Yeah you seem to have the right idea about it just need to sprinkle in a bit more haste and get use to pre-healing then you should be set

it's not even worth it at 5%, at least not for pugs.

at 15%, i am dropping hallowed ground for it.

-30% damage reduction plate user (15% from max vers, 15% from light's grace) coming to a PuG near you.

testing out https://www.wowhead.com/item=52760/enchant-weapon-hurricane#comments as we speak on PTR

+50% healing to holy light is absolutely worth using it in its current version, the 5% damage reduction was just extra. I know it was completely changed in 9.1, but that's why it was used previously.

Test results: melee attacks and abilities triggers hurricane, spells trigger hurricane, heals trigger hurricane, even https://www.wowhead.com/spell=62124/hand-of-reckoning procs https://www.wowhead.com/item=52760/enchant-weapon-hurricane (haste buff with no internal CD)

man, this is all starting to connect, i am dropping https://www.wowhead.com/item=112160/enchant-weapon-mark-of-blackrock for hurricane.

oh i see, i was strictly referring to the dmg reduction part.

I mean, you can dislike that I was being a bit of a dick, but you just followed my advice anyway because it was helpful advice.

Ahh, he thinks I am witty. Gonna make me blush.

Playing almost exclusively arenas this xpac with a 5-10 group of players who have been playing 20 arenas for almost a decade each at this point.

I would ideally have 2 sets on every healer: one set with vers 100-120 and Haste 50-60, and another set with haste/mastery up pretty high and vers 60-70. Basically, you're swapping off between vers +damage and +resistance vs. healing output / anti-interrupts. The complicating factor here is that Vers is pretty damn important to have pretty much regardless of any other factor. It's just that playing around ranged interrupts is very important when you're not the focus target.

I could probably make a tier list for 20 arenas at this point... some DPS would still be kind of up in the air for me, just because I haven't seen them a lot - or I haven't seen a strong pilot play them yet.
