Why do people think that boa tab = p2p enchants? The way it's going to work is that you can access a tab with all of the boas you've obtained put inside said tab. You click the icon of the boa you want and an un-enchanted version of the that item appears in your bags. What does that have to do with p2p enchants?

5.0 prepatch was pretty bad. Holy shock one shot for a week. You think hunters are bad now. EVERY battleground was full of holy paladin rerolls on both side for a few weeks.
Something similar is going to happen in the 6.0 prepatch. Have fun while it lasts. It not happens once an expansion this bad. It is the perfect time to find unclosed "loops". Every big patch is the perfect time, until it s hotfixed.

This is exactly why I have no sympathy for the majority of the trials in this bracket. A good portion of the 20 hunters you see Qing today are no better than 24s, they just can't fork up $15 a month. If a class does happen to become really op next xpac, I'm hoping it's something that doesn't have a low skill floor.

Sweetsydney I think what shes trying to say is how wide the gap is between f2p and p2p. f2p vs p2p, Like no matter how good a f2p performed or how awful the p2p enemy player was (im not saying that every 24 player is awful don't get me wrong) the p2p could just heal though most the damage, and p2p spellpower is usually 220 (before jade spirit proc) my spellpower is 140. Bascially I have to cast ''double'' the heals to ''equal or cancel out'' a p2p or its damage. And f2p toon gets destroyed in a similar situation (say vs 2-3 hunters p2p healers can last through, not a f2p though)

lets compare(both of these toons aren't mine but first I one use extensively)

Strikesix @ Daggerspine - Community - World of Warcraft scales to 1920 hp in bgs

Conq @ Argent Dawn - Community - World of Warcraft hes prot now, he had something like 3.7k hp and 1100 mana.

Basically in situations where a f2p can instantly bursted down (24 hunter+24 rogue) a p2p can just tank it through

You cant really do '''positive thinking'' when someone right next to you( or worse trying to tap you to death while doing /lol ) has double the health/mana/mana regen/spellpower/10% more crit just because he threw enchants..im sure f2ps really get irritated by those enchants.

I would actually say that's the way we *hope* it will work. (Unless it's already been observed in some way I'm not aware of)

Because there's always the alternative that it gets sent in the mail or something that causes them to be unavailable to us, or has some bug with the f2p restrictions (pet battles anyone) and blizz goes "oh I guess this feature won't be available on starter edition oh well."

But it would be reasonable to assume that however they show up the enchants aren't coming with them.

little off topic: Just a note to all thinking about linking p2p with f2p. I tried today to link another f2p account, and the GM told me that they're unable to move trial accounts only able to move upgraded accounts. I have successfully linked an account around a year ago, but the gm said it reported problems with doing this and as a result they cannot link trials anymore. it's become a policy that i couldn't sweet talk him around.

Inoobpro, thanks for your opinion. Trials have the option, just as everyone else does, to subscribe. They just choose not to. Come on, it is only 50 cents per day. I am sure that trials spend more than than on lollipops and energy drinks. There is nothing evil about subscribing. I bet many trials subscribe to console game formats of some sort. But for some reason they choose not to subscribe to WoW. Put it in perspective, fifty cents, that is pretty damn cheap entertainment if you ask me. Subscribers are doing nothing wrong. Twinkng always swells at the end of an expansion because endgame players get bored with content or are finished. That is exactly how twinking got started. Bored player base.

I presume you will "summon" the item you need if you have said item unlocked. The issue that remains is if you have multiples of that item. Will you be able to summon multiple copies or just one? Will you learn this item like you do a mount or a pet, my guess. Many questions, so little answers.
There also may be a tabard tab. I have so many Tabards on my main endgame toon it is crazy. It will be nice if those are shareable. I could have Tabard of the Lightbringer - Item - World of Warcraft on a twink.
Perhaps even trials could even get a temporary subscription to get all the heirlooms unlocked.
We will just have to wait and see.

So you are saying that linked trial accounts are grandfathered? Hmmmm...
I would just try another GM. If that one said no try another in a few days. Be persistent and professional, you are a paying customer.

Grandfathered wouldn't be the correct term, since subscribers still have the option to add a starter edition.

I have an unlinked (two actually). Blizz won't link them with my main b.net account because my main account already has a starter edition attached.

So, you are saying, now, that the gap is worse than it has ever been? What specs were viable in 5.3 for F2P that are not viable now due to the enchant scaling? I am unaware of enchanting making a class spec unviable. But then again, pretty much all I do is play non flavor of the month heals.
Besides, very very few people have enchanted helms in this bracket. I for one only have it on a Lucky Fishing Hat on a 19. I am sure there are a few 20-24's that do, but they rarely play those particular toons. I even have some shoulders with resistance enchants on them.
The trials and subscribers need to stop making this an us vs. them all the time.
As was mentioned above, there are ways to get heirlooms( and other gear)to trial accounts. I have done it, others have done it. You just have to be persistent and creative.

Sweetsidney ...

yes gap is bigger, not gonna break it all down

prior to patch 5.4

F2P hunter +1 or +2 damage scope
P2P hunter +3 damage scope

after patch 5.4

F2P hunter +1 or +2 damage scope
P2P hunter +11 damage scope and many more even better

that is a issue blizzard has not totally clarified yet on the mechanics of the tab. but keep this in mind....a paid account player on his/her level-90 puts a staff with jade spirit, 2 daggers with dancing steel, along with etc items into the tab, then on the same server takes them out on a level-1 to find out what could be 6000+ gold worth of enchants have been wiped. i guarantee blizzard will hear about it and have to fix it.

there would be a insane uproar if on patch 6.0 all BOAs not equipped in banks/bags where auto put into the tab and enchants ended up being wiped

pretty sure questions about the mechanics will have to be addressed prior to BOA tab going active and fixed in BETA.

to link a trial account to a active battlenet account you have to call blizzard to get account and billing dept

I chatted to them at length on live chat, i provided ID, the names on p2p and f2p are identical to my ID. He looked into it for me because i said i'd done the same last time. He said he could see all the information was in order but the problem was with linking a trial to a main account and the problems it's caused before. Someone mentioned being persistent - so I will try one more time this week and hopefully get another GM. I'll be sure to report back if i'm successful or not. But from the way he was talking I think linking trial days are over (unless you create new f2p account on your p2p battle net)

I completely agree with this, each BoA from the tab ( assuming we get it ) will be fresh: no transmog and no enchants, so therefore linking a p2p account would only give the f2p boa not any enchants.

We just know better than to pay for something that is free. If you really think so low of free to plays, then get out of this section.

From the observable changes so far, this new expansion sounds like a chance to try this game over.

I think MoP was and is the worst expansion and blizz seems to be fixing that or trying to in WoD.
Please keep in mind that to the game developers endgame content is the priority and however the dominos fall to us from max level changes is not a big issue to them.

Overall the new racial changes, stat changes, Squish, commodities, and class changes will potentially be for the best- IK ITS TO EARLY TO BE MY HAPPY AND OPTIMISTIC SELF BUT DEAL WITH IT- and if they aren't who gives a crap, we have always managed to walk and limp by it.

Lets hope for the best and thanks for the great feedback!!!!

Where did I state that I thought "lowly" of the trials as you so eloquently put it? I believe it is quite the opposite. Many of the trials think lowly of the subscribers. Why should I get out of this section? Every once in a while it offers a nice tidbit of information. After all, that is exactly why this web site was created back during the Burning Crusade. The rest of the time it merely serves as entertainment.

Sweetsidney..

The only thing im really looking for is the skirmishes... As long as F2ps have acces to them this expansion will be a succes. Oh and I also hope that the Fury warriors will become viable! (Im tired of Prot. And i hate Arms...)

Lol I tried a fury p2p with maxed out gear and got pooped on by a preloom warlock. Whatever change they make, it better be drastic
