What I am stating is that someone cannot jump a chasm in two leaps. And they cannot. I suggest you try it, even a small one, and see what happens. See if you can jump over a two foot/.6 meter "chasm" in two "leaps". Upon landing your first jump you will not have made it to the other side. You would have fell in the "chasm".Thus failing in your attempt.
It has absolutely nothing to do about the width of the "chasm". That is why I chose the word chasm. Chasm are deep, not wide.
