my theory is that items from phased/instanced zones will not upgrade to epic quality. there has been no proof of dungeon items (from rares and/or mob unique loot) upgrading to epic. you're in a new phase once you've completed the quest that allows you to kill the mobs that drop deadmines cleaver.

i havent turned in that quest in westfall yet, joined 4/5 farming groups. gotten 65 blue cleavers, no epics for anyone in any groups. gonna so it dont proc

Spent 6 hours and finally got epic foreman's leggings...

Had gotten at least 14 gloves (4 epic) before that, and 7 leggings that were rare. Two of the bone maces as epic, and...well tons as blue. So glad to be free.

Spent about 15hrs in WC yesterday farming fang/slither glove. 25+ drops. No purple. Not saying that’s a large enough sample size but it looks bad for instance drops to proc purple

Wouldnt it be the same for Wicked Blackjack then? That that shouldnt be able to upgrade
