Obtaining gear out of your specialization

Title says it all. Im pretty sure they are multiple ways to do this.
Can someone please explain the ways to obtain these as a Shaman. https://www.wowhead.com/item=161019/dread-vulture-waistcord?bonus=4777:1474#comments

One of the Wowhead comments said "This and the other pieces of the set can also be seen as rewards from World Quests attached to the rares that drop it/them".
Maybe the Mage/Priest/Lock could share the quest for the same rewards?

From a rare drop? Not entirely sure it's possible. Though I'd be interested to learn that I'm wrong.
Was thinking about being in a party with a Mage/Priest/Lock and these dropping and the shaman picking them up? Is something like that possible?

No, that's not possible due to how personal loot works. You have a shot at obtaining gear pertaining to your specialization; meaning you won't ever be able to loot cloth on a Shaman since all specs of that class wear mail. That would only be possible via legacy loot which needless to say is irrelevant in this context. Rare drops also don't work the same as dungeons so there is no 2 hours window to trade soulbound gear.

"non-cloth wearers can obtain the pieces by killing the rares while they are not part of a world quest (items are rare drops). However, I cannot confirm if the set bonus will work for non-cloth classes."
What's your thoughts?
This true?
And why wouldn't the set bonus work? Never heard of such

I don't know if that works man, further testing is needed. Go kill that rare on a non-cloth wearer and see how it goes. Either way, it is a rare from Vol'dun, that zone doesn't scale to 20. Are you trying to get it on a 50 Shaman or something?

Ahh that piece of the set maybe not. But 3 of the 5 have scaling zones.

Because they are bfa rares you only have once chance to kill it per character for the drop & they are low drop rates. There are only 3 rares possible to kill at this level for the drop, so the chances of a non clothy toon getting more than 1 piece of the set is slim to none... one can dream lol

I think the numbers is skewered since they simply dont drop for anyone not using cloth. Also part of a wq so they get killed tons of times after people have killed them once.
A cloth user will get these items on first kill. Mail, leather and plate. Probably never, unless theres a weird bug.
