NWL Guild Merging

Balditron

The Highlander
I was reminiscing today and remembered back to a time when there was a <Twink Info> guild. Even though I never experienced this first hand, at the time I thought it was awesome, and really wanted to be part of the community.

After the TC, lets not be pretentious and accept the fact that many of the active guilds now will reduce in active playerbase and activity. That's not to saythis will happen to all guilds, but there will be those within the community who are left high and dry following the TC.

What if something organised, similar (not identical before people bash me) to the old TI guild, could be setup to home those twinks left without an active home following the cup? It would essentially work as a merging point for some of the smaller guilds and facilitate people looking for activity and the basis for forming their own teams for the NWL.

Just wanted to see what other people's opinions on this were, and if anyone was in the old TI guild, see how it went etc. etc.

Cheers

Why would anyone leave after the twink cup though? 19's are having such a bright future now with the whole NWL thing and after that TC #3 again, there is absolutely no reason for people to quit the bracket except for irl reasons.

The guild landscape will greatly change after the TC but the bracket will stay alive, and it will soar to new limits even faster if the twinkcup goes well, either way its here to stay, people will move around, guilds may rise, guilds may fall, but guilds there will be. What alliance needs now regardless of being a Twinkinfo guild is a mass guild that lets new players get integrated, I cannot run a guild like that anymore, as my current 19s activities keep me far to busy to add on anything else. I hope someone else does. Right now its a waiting game in regards to power shifts.

You can be sure that a large amount of people will quit after the TC. They might return at some point but the activity will decrease. People were hyping for more than half a year now, they put much effort into this. There will be disappointments and there will be a motivational gap for some twinks.

That's quite the assumption, and contradicts all the intrigue gauging I've been doing for the past few weeks, what makes you think the result of the Twinkcup will be so negative?

Say a good handful ppl will leave. Keep in mind summer comes to a close the school year starts again taking another hit. This nwl thing is cool if youre in it. If not then i see it as another thing that hurts the bracket. Hard to keep ppl engaged new and old players if there is a nwl taking 20 players away from pugs. Say youre mid season of your little league and new players cant join because they werent there from the start. I havent browsed about it so i dont know rules about it nor care so apologize if there is a solution just throwin 2c out. I alrdy get aggro when i see multiple real id in wsg and theyre in practice and pugs end before i get home from work. If it kept up see more ppl leave i guess thats what 29s are for. Sent from phone so prob errors in this

Sorry I dont have time for long explanations. All I am saying is that players will quit after the cup due to obvious reasons. Lack of motivation, overdose of 19s, school/college. The main event everyone was preparing for is over then. The question will be, how long and what does it take to get things active again. And that will probably be the next twinkcup....

There are no indications of the bracket going inactive, at least on bleeding hollow.

There is no certainty, but with the Twink Cup ending and school/work starting, there will probably be a decrease in activity - unless perhaps newly recruits fill in the void.

a decrease is expected, inactivity is unrealistic. Yet if the twinkcup does well we could see a surge in activity.

I think you've missed out the main reason for people to leave following the twink cup - the twink cup will have finished.

So many players are currently sinking time into teams and small guilds practising for it. I would love to think optimistically and assume that the many smaller guilds like we currently have (on horde anyway) which define the majority of cup teams would still thrive and survive for another 12 months after the finals. I know that the NCWL will definitely address this and encourage them to stay, however I also know that assuming noone will leave is unrealistic.

From the short few streams I have seen, I know that there are many players who are currently only playing for the cup (pretty sure pizza mentioned this about SR in the interviews) and it will be a shame to see them leave, which is why I'm making this post early on in the hope that someone with the time and enthusiasm may see it and seed will be planted for the future ^^.

This is exactly my point. Not necessarily a "twink info" operated guild, but one which has a steady and active leader, ready to pick up the inevitable slack which will arise following the twink cup.

Yeah like conq stated above, the popularity is in the hands of the TC. If the TC runs smoothly and there are great games, then im sure more people will join this bracket and fill up the spots for the ones who are going on vacation or go back to school.

I've seen the bracket more active than this and die within a few bad nights. I hope you're right, but saying it's unrealistic is, well unrealistic.

Quality over quantity my friend. That's what sets 19s apart from other brackets.

The reality of it is, in a matter of weeks many many people will have a lot less time on their hands. And for whatever reason, WoW will have to be put on the back burner.
Some of these people may not have time to put together wargames and would just rather hop into a few quick pick up games, be it solo or with a few friends or guildmates. Log off, and then go do whatever it is that takes away from their WoW time. And if they have time after that, log on rinse & repeat.
Those people will flock to the bracket that offers the quickest most satisfying game for them. Whether that bracket is this bracket or not, only time can tell.

You seem to have forgot how many times its died since 3.2.0. But I love your optimism.

I like the idea that ppl without the numbers in their guild etc can have an opportunity to play in the NWL , otherwise we could potentially lose the ppl whom otherwise want to keep playing 19s after tc

I am willing to help as much i can at least
