Notifications off, still getting emails

Im getting emails for every post someone makes in the thread that I posted in. I turned off the notifications in my settings and am still getting them.

We'll look into it. I manually turned it off for your account, so hopefully that'll do it for now.

Actually, I might have just answered my own problem when making this post. Did not see the check box the first time I posted that opted for email notifications on the entire thread. Saw it when I was making this thread right as I clicked submit. I went back and edited both this thread, and my previous post and unchecked that box.

It takes some time to get used to new forum software. We're hoping that all the planned features make up for the negative opinions people have regarding XenForo.

do it for me too el chapo

Done. For the rest of you, the option to turn off email notifications can be found by hovering over your name at the top right and clicking preferences.

I did not receive email notifications for either of the posts after my last post. Editing my comment and unchecking that box appears to have fixed the issue. Unless whatever you did Chap is a master override and makes changes I make null.

I had turned it off in my preferences before I made this post. The issues is there is a check box that pops up when you are posting that asks if you want to receive email notifications for the thread. It is default checked so it overwrites the preference settings. I edited both my original posts and unchecked that box and the emails stopped. Perhaps that box can be programmed to default to being unchecked?

I merely edited it as if you had done it yourself. You can always go back and change it if you wish to in the future.

For me it is unchecked by default whenever I try to make a new thread on my test account with the preferences turned off. I'll do some more testing when I wake up, but I'd like to point out that we appreciate any reports we receive regarding functions potentially misbehaving and/or bugs, because it gives us the ability to investigate without doing intensive bug testing ourselves. Any issues we hammer down before we are done with all the features is one less bug we need to get rid of on the way towards a finished product, and as such, the users are invaluable assets in our current state. We truly appreciate the help.
