New to F2P - What's the current status?

Legend
Hello everyone,

I recently decided to try an F2P character instead of a new 19. I'm very excited to get started. When I quickly looked through some threads to get some basic information, I saw something coming by about Horde being bashed quite frequently. That obviously made me go Horde, because I like a challenge! I chose the priest class, because I barely played it at low level but have always enjoyed it. Plus I hope to make a difference in Warsong Gulch as another Horde healer.

Anyway, what can I expect? Are games up all day/night? Are they balanced? Is class balance even worse than in 19s? Does every game end 3-0? All information you can and want to give me is very welcome!

Looking forwards to joining a brandnew community!

Regards,
Blauw. :)

Ill add another question, how can u make an US f2p account when you live in Europe?

Just DL US client.

OnT: Current state is almost like 19 EU, except it's alliance that roflstomps horde. Also, I've noticed there's a more friendlier attitude towards farming than what you'll experience in EU too.

Though it's not as bursty, much more frequent pops. And as you're EU (from NL if I'm not totally mistaken^^) the "peak" queue times can be at a little weird times but pops is going on 24/7 so shouldn't be a too big of a problem.

With the limited defensive gear that there is (ofc limited offensive gear aswell) the burst is almost the exact same as 19, I can basically 3 shot a good geared priest on my hunter.

Right, did I miss something lol? Is it impossible to play F2P in Europe?

Hello and welcome to the f2p bracket. If you haven't checked this thread out, i highly recommend that you do.

Q times are pretty good for horde, ranging from a few seconds to three minutes at best. Balance is terrible in this bracket like any other bracket, don't be surprised. Games can end in multiple ways depending on many different catalysts.

I highly recommend you join the AP community as it's the largest community of f2p twinks on the US side, if your EU you might want to consider twisting nether if you go alliance and aggramar for horde. Remember to check that thread i linked earlier as it will literally have all the info you need to get started, have fun and good luck.

Thanks mate!

Hey wildlife. You should start f2p on US Aerie peak (if you go alliance side, I'll boost you in dungeons/quests with my 85), I agree that the BG's are awful and that is why I'm never playing it, instead of that I'm playing arena via wargames obviously. The class balance is way better than 19 and there is not as much burst as 19. I do recommand you to roll here(If you cba to farm heirloom gear you can check out this thread: http://www.twinkinfo.com/account-sales/34290-f2p-account-service-shop-3.html#post485969).
Also hunters are somewhat banned from the arenas which is epic!
Ps. prepare to fear the almighty EU RMP in arenas.

Arenas are going on at most times of the day on Aerie Peak US if BGs aren't your thing.

Priests are a very under estimated class, most QQ about hunters but it takes at least 2 level 20 hunters or a 24 hunter to drop me. You'll have loads of fun with the class!

Even though you are EU, I reccomend coming US for F2P. Aerie Peak was actually discovered by EU players waaay back in the day for having the best latency for them.

Both US and EU Realms have thriving F2P communities. If you are interested in the activities possible, have a look at:
One may experience increased latency / lag connecting to for example a US server from the EU. You could install a (separate) client for your destination, or change your realmlist. If you want to know more about what this means or are interested in changing your realmlist, read the following:

I'll pretty much reiterate what everybody else said, come AP US. It's much more active then any EU server as far I'm aware and there's quite a handful of EU players you may recognise.

Games are up all night, all day. Alliance queues range from 6-12 minutes, Horde queues range from Instant-3 minutes. Hunters are overpowered, Paladins are over powered (to an extent). Don't roll a class without a form of CC unless you're a masochist.

That's US anyway, not sure about EU. Take care, have fun!

Ondura, Squidgy, Dramatized, Cerial, Soldjah (and his bro), Me, Hiphopatus, Juno, Vianco, Anarchism, Arv, Atychiphobia are all on AP alliance atm under a host of different names. I dont feel I can add anything more helpful than what's already been said so thought I'd fill you in with some of the names there:)
