New Skin Design -- Thoughts?

Hello everyone.

There has been a lot of work going on behind the scenes here at Twink Info and I wanted to share with you what has been being worked on over the course of the past 4-5 days.

I introduce you to the new skin design concept for Twink Info.

These screenshots are overall concept designs and not a finished product by any means. The theme takes on a bit of a mediveal look with the logo, forum icons, and background. I think that the design works very well with the community personally, but I am curious to hear your thoughts.

What do you think of the color scheme and general setup of the skin? Please note that the skin will be a fluid width (meaning that it will stretch 100% across your screen).

To be honest, it's not a wow design but maybe the right way to go considering the new MMO games coming out this year, which is a big plus for me when I'm playing swtor atm (and GW2 later on) =)

I'm so used with the normal TI scale so I'm not sure really...

Twinking will no longer be a WoW-only way of playing. It will evolve into other games and I want to design for that future. I think that SWTOR will develop a good size twinking communtiy and the same could happen for other MMOs coming out this year.

In essence, we need to start thinking bigger than WoW. If we just focus on that one game, the community will go kaput once WoW puts in the final nail in coffin.

Seems a tad boring. No offense of course <3. Nothing against the color scheme of TI lately but the strange pop in color being green looks a bit cheesy. The weird non-tailored creature needs to go. I know this is just a basic color scheme example but you seem willing to put the time into the site. Make it unique. When you choose logos ect. think of twinks not medieval times! <3

Edit: Note on SWTOR...the community here supporting the game has literally been cut in half. Game was a failure for the kind of game play we enjoy. And whether or not we anticipate the "future" of gaming here this site is still "TWINK info".

I like it, the current skin is just bad. You need to use the TI banner from the old site with the old font, it looked very nice.

I prefer this one, but you can fix it by making this one an avaible skin. Make several skins would be nice. I didn't like the other one, but perhaps thats because I'm used to this one.

My final answer is, do whatever skin you feel like standard, but then I would like to have this skin avaible.

I agree with Eliot, I would be sad to see the hat go. I don't think it's harmful to give a clever shout-out to the WoW roots, even if you design for the future.
Actually I think the new design would look even fresher with that jaunty hat!

I like the new look a lot actually. Looks much smoother than the current setup. A change would be nice.

The design that I am showing you will be the default skin design and I will of course, OVER TIME, develop more skins that may not be as unique. I may even go into looking at a couple store bought ones that people like just to give people what they want and save myself some time.

I do want people to know that one person keeping skins up to date is a daunting task and I will never have more than 3 active choices. Having more than that will create more issues down the road.

That's fully understandable, and i'm pretty sure we all appreciated the work you'reputting into this =)

That said, simplygiving us more then one option,wouldbe best bet if you ask me.

Yeah. My plan is to retool this skin as a lot of people seem to still enjoy this skin, add one more (probably a light color scheme), and then the skin design that I am actually creating.
