New prices for brutal

Can anyone screenshot the prices of all the brutal in both beta and ptr if they have access to it?

I want to know if its worth saving up arena points or spending them.

with arena points being converted, and knowing blizz the honor points the items will cost will be greater in comparison then the honor you get.



if you played years ago, like when S1 and S2 were put into the PVP gear vendors for honor, the honor was immense compared to what it would have taken to earn and buy them with arena points.



just going by that and looking at the currency calculator, i didn't like the deal i would be getting, so some item i have gone ahead and gotten.
 
Arena points will be wiped before Cata. Season 8 ends Oct 12th. Season 9 will be for level 85 and will start early December, shortly after Cata's release. Drakes and titles will be awarded and Arena Points and teams wiped at launch of Cata. This was posted by Zarhym a few days ago.. Sorry can't find the link to blue source. I think it was removed as it exposed a Cata release date.

@ Stabatha i read somewhere that arenas will still be accessable for 70s, and even if it isn't you can still get s3 / s4 stuff through bgs.



Anyway back on topic, anyone got screenshots of prices on s3 / s4 stuff on ptr or beta (or both)?

Yes, but you asked if you should save arena points until Cata or spend them. As I said, just like every season, Arena Points get wiped before start of the following season. In this case it will be when we update to 4.0.1.
 
70's have never lost arena points at the reset or start of any arena season's that affect 80's. WOTLK didn't reset arena points for 70's when 80's started first WOTLK arena season. Blizz did put a arena point wipe level limit, when you hit 71 your arena points were wiped, removed from any 70 team, etc.

my twinks lost no points on 80 relentless or 80 wrathful seasons resets



CATA will wipe them, because of the currency conversion, not due to level 85's starting a new season



@cuddle......honor wise i believe based on past actions by blizzard and IMO....spend your arena points now. if you weren't playing when Blizz put S1 and then later S2 gear into the SW/ORG PVP store, well you still won't understand what i'm trying to say.

But wait, isn't it gonna be converted and, NOT wiped? Also, the new season doesn't start till 1 week after cataclysm release and the currency patch is way before that so, will it be worth saving arena points to buy brutal when the currency change lands, or is it cheaper to get it now, and please answer with a screenshot or video of you showing the prices on either PTR or Beta & your calculation.

I checked the prices today, my observations:



Rating requirements are back and they are same as they used to be back in s4:



Brutal:

Head: 1700

Shoulders: 2200

Chest: 1600

Legs: 1550

Hands: No requirement.

Wand/Relic/Thrown: No requirement

Weapons & Shields: 2050



Vengeful:



Shoulders: 1950

Weapons: 1800

Rest: No requirement.



Honor costs for Brutal (Vengeful appears to be 20% cheaper):



Head: 1603

Shoulders: 1282

Chest: 1603

Hands: 961

Legs: 1603



2H Weapon: 3206

MH Weapon: 2244

OH Weapon: 961

Shield: 1603

Caster Mace / Dagger: 2693

Relic / Thrown / Wand: 855



Prices are little bit cheaper but also the amount of honor gained from arena points is little less than 1:1 so the cost remains same. The difference is that (current) honor can also be used as currency but rating requirements exist for most of the brutal items. I had around 40k honor and 1300 arena points in live and ended up with 2k new honor in PTR.

Some Guardians also have rating requirements (as they did in s4):



Boots: 1700

Wrist: 1575

Ring: 1650



Honor cost for Guardians seem to be pretty small:



Wrist / Ring / Cloak (i156) / Neck: 90

Belt / Boots / BM trinket / Epic PvP Trinket: 140



While cost of merciless is way too high:



Gloves: 2059

Shoulders: 2226

Chest/Helm/Legs: 2589



Vengeful and Brutal seems reasonable but price for guardians seems too small and the merciless just way too expensive so I'd expect these costs to change.
 
looks like they pulled old files of gear data from way prior to WotLK release. as i said in post #2 above:

if you know the BC history of PVE vs PVP gear. S2 gear when it rolled, many players had not even progressed to KARA yet or those that worked at it got mad. using the old arena system were teams started at 1500 players would do 10 games, get points for the week, delete team, start new team for next week and repeat till geared. they were getting geared with epics faster than those attempting to PVE. players that were geared in S2 and veterans gear were able to run KARA, infact nothing dropped that would replace it. even today the badges from KARA will get you T4 or S1 gear.



along with S1 being available for honor points, one of the Blizzard Blue posters called the above system....welfare epics. when S2 to PVP vendor was later added they costed mega honor.
 
highly doubt the s4 and 3 or w/e will have team requirements.....just doesnt seem very blizz like. but keep us posted i suppose, 4.0.? is rumored to drop next week (or today, god forbid) so we'll find out relatively quickly i guess
 
Shanker is actually making sense, they really are identical to what we had at s4 so guess they are just using the old files. I'll keep checking and let you know if something changes.
 
well servers are back up, no patch this week. mmo-champ rumored next week (oct 12th) though, so either keep tryin to research or just sit back and enjoy the coming rollercoaster
 
My previous post seems to be accurate about the prices and conversion rates with the exception that merciless and vengeful vendors don't exist (the ones that were on ptrs selling them to honor) and there are no rating requirements.
 
is that merciless and vengeful offsets or main sets? And can you still get merciless main set from tokens if previous statement was about main set?
 
I think the isle of quel'danas vendors are as they used to be. My statement was regarding to the vendors that were only in PTR (never in the live), there was additional vendor in area 52 selling vengeful and in stormwind there was merciless vendor and they both were selling their items for honor. Now they are gone. I doubt that would affect the token vendors.
