New level 70 twink questions [ROUGE] Gemming, gear etc.

Hey guys, new to twinking! Decided to make one as my mate just moved over from EU, and wanted to play one as well!

I've searched for ages on the internet, but a lot of the information is either outdated or inaccurate. I have a few questions to ask

First of all, what gear do I need to replace, and with what? I've seen a lot of rouges go with the Slayers gear, for the four peice bonus. Clux for the weapons?

• Should I gem Agility or PvP power? I will mainly be doing arena's.

• Do 70 twink rouges suck? Is it just me/my gear or are they just not that great at level 70?

• My arena partner is a Disc priest. I have RaF so I don't mind rerolling. I main a mage, and was thinking about twinking another one if Rouge/Disc doesn't have much synergy.

ITT: Does disc and rouge work well?

As for your questions, you might find answers in the 70-79 forum. I'm not certain for Rogues, but I assume there is a similar boundary where after a certain amount of AP, PvP Power will win out. And from what I've witnessed, Rogues are still quite viable.

PvP power is what you should gem for definite, i haven't got round to gemming or enchanting my rogue properly yet.

rogue&disc priest works very well

The level of AP where rogues go full PvP power is around 2100 AP. Get there (ideally via gear) then stack PvP power as much or as little as you want. Would reccommend high-socket items such as the karazhan 3-socket dagger.

Here's a chardev on a rogue who I'd like to call pretty much BiS but yeah if you want some resil you might not want to use this, And the proffs maybe isn't the best. Maybe engineering is better, It's what you prefer I guess.

Would reccommend high-socket items such as the karazhan 3-socket dagger.

NO
Common rogue mistake to go for sockets over actual ilvl.
Compare DPS of Crux and the kara dagg, you losing about 60 DPS and a crap-ton of secondary stats leading to a huge dmg reduction for what.. 40 pvp power? No.

Usual rogue set-up for BiS is 4 pieces of T6 (pref : shoulders, boots,belt, bracers). Then the sunwell gear in general.
Avoid the Socket > Stats gear. like the kara dagg and blue necklace
Socket around 7 to 8 pvp power gems to get a solid ~20% then stack rest into agility. Usually comes up to gemming 11 agility gems.

40 PvP power is approximately 3% more damage. You realize WHY socket gear from tbc is so good right?

Not to mention that the karazhan dagger is what you use in the offhand which gives a couple things:

1. Speed. For a rogue, more poison applications are better than less.
2. Stats. 3 sockets provide more sockets than the best dagger from the tbc era, Crux. 3 sockets in your offhand is worth more than the weapon dps.

Also, why does 20% PvP power suddenly become the point where you stop? PvP power is inherently a better stat than agility for PvP, once you reach around 2100 AP, which is easily possible with a small number of gems and decent gear.

I could do the "NO​" part too, but that would be arrogant.

if you stack PvP power, you wont be doing any dmg at all, lol. Better to balance it out. Yes speed is good, and if you want sockets over DPS fine, use the double sokcet fist that drops in SWP.
