New Level 10 Rogue

Hihi!

Awkwerd @ Grizzly Hills - Community - World of Warcraft

That is my toon. I've been gearing him up for a bit now and I think I am only missing a few pieces. I'm 1 chest away from my first Arena Grand Master but it's a long hard slog with CRZ bringing in higher level toons from all over. I've been trying for that last one all week. I only just learned about the Inherited Mark of Tyranny and am grinding honor on my lvl 90 to buy one. I don't fish or pay to faction change so I guess I'm stuck with those rings. I have a set of Embossed Leather Boots with the run speed increase but since BG queues never pop it seems I am always fighting people much higher level than me. So I am using the Hit enchant over the speed or Agility alternative. Is that sound thinking? I'm keeping an eye on the AH for a Bard's Bracers of Agility but other than that if anyone can point me to an upgrade I would appreciate it.

I do have some gear questions. I'm using the hammers because of the increased stats but are they really better than daggers? I've tried testing it on the dummies in Theramore but the results were inconclusive. Or I'm too much of a dummy to reach any conclusions at least. Is the Inherited Mark of Tyranny worth it once I have an AGM? And how much value is there in a 2nd AGM? And lastly, I have the Voice Amplification Module because I've seen it on other melee twinks but is it actually doing me any good?

Generally are there more fun things to do at level 10? I liked gearing up my toon but mostly I'm just at the arena working on my AGM. I duel some at Goldshire and go collecting consumables but other than that the best thing to do for fun is hang out flagged in low level Horde areas in hopes they will attack me. (I'm on a PvE realm.) I've managed to collect a couple hundred honor that way but i die an awful lot. I like Ghostlands because no one can fly there. Any suggestions for activities would be appreciated.

Lastly, I am far from the greatest PvPer but with my gear I can generally take down toons with under 2000 health. The exception are Paladins. Any suggestions for a strat to kill them? In particular I keep dying to Paladins. There seem to be a lot of them around 24 in the Gurubashi Arena. Lately I have been trinketting the Hammer of Justice and getting up some combo points and then restealthing for the 10% damage bonus and to pool energy then reopening and using my Lifeblood Haste bonus to try to burn 'em down. It's not working so well.

tl;dr - hi

Boots:
Get a pair with +7 Stamina
Personally i would put +runspeed on my blue boots if i was a rogue, since that's what you're going to need :) Then get a second pair with hit rating for when you're fighting high levels :)

Dread Pirate ring & Slayer's Band aswell, for new rings :) (Slayer's Band is from horde)
Belt of the Monkey, instead of the Tiger

For extremely much hit rating, you can get a third weapon with Pyrium Pyrium Weapon Chain - Item - World of Warcraft on it, you'll just have to put the enchant on, on a high level toon

Get a second pair of gloves with Haste, that's a personal preference, but i think it's better :)

I agree with Oliks. If you have the speed increase, you can get away and stealth out if you need to. It will definitely come in handy.
Though, i haven't played a rogue for years & I forget what abiities/talents you can use.

Thanks for the replies. The problem with the run speed boot enchant is that the people I'm dying to are all above level 15 and it seems like that's when every class gets a movement talent. Eurosteel (a level 24 rogue that is also farming the Gurubashi Arena) uses Nightstalker. The pallys use mostly Speed of Light or Pursuit of Justice. I can't outrun these people even with the boot enchant. I use Shadowmeld to restealth but even that is of limited use. It is easy for them to spot me because I'm so much lower level than them.

I would consider the Stam boot enchant but I don't feel that if I could just live a bit longer I could grind it out. The pallys are healing. There is no wearing them down because mana is limitless. My chance to take them down is to get combo points up on them and then burst. So the fights are pretty quick. I don't worry about a 2nd Hammer of Justice because one way or the other it's usually over inside a minute.

I would gladly trade 15 Agility for 40 Hit but weapon enchants don't work that way anymore. You can enchant heirloom gear with high level enchants if you wish but they don't work until you reach the required level. I have a Scryers Crit enchant on my shoulders but it does nothing for my rogue toon. You have to be level 68 or so before it starts working. So I need the +5 Hit on my boots. The same for my belt. I have a belt with +1 Agi and +1 Stam in my bags but I don't equip it because I always need a better chance to hit than 10 more health.

I'm not trying to reject your advice out of hand. I really do appreciate it. I'd like to hear more about the glove enchant that was mentioned. I actually have one of those on my bank alt but haven't seen the benefit of 10 more Haste over 15 Agility. Once I come across another pair of Ceremonial Gloves I'll enchant them and take a look. Also, I'm really curious about the Voice Amplification Module. Is it helping me at all or is it just a vanity item?

VAM is a vanity item.
10 haste increases energy regen by 2.6, and haste by 26%.
the 15 agility increases attack power by 30 (higher if you're sub), crit chance by around 5.88%, and dodge by around 5.16%?.

You can use whichever of the two suits you best, as they're both valid choices.

Nightstalker increased speed only works while stealthed, so you get the 8% benefit while unstealthed.

I would use the pvp caster leather shoulders. At the cost of agility, you gain crit and 1 more resil.

40 hit (pyrium weapon chain) still works even at level 1.

If you find health to be an issue, consider getting another loom chest with 100 hp if necessary.

Thanks for the advice. I'm shopping around for a Pyrium Weapon Chain. I'm trying the caster shoulders. It doesn't seem to make a big difference but boy does it feel weird. :p

I don't have Nightstalker. I'm a 10. And yeah Eurosteel isn't stealthed when chasing me so it would help in that fight but I can kill her. As long as she doesn't open on me I have a shot depending on RNG. It's the fast pallies that I can't get away from. So if I don't need the Hit I would look to go with the Agility boot enchant.
