New here, hi

Been a bit of a lurker for a little while now, had no real experience at all with twinking until the Shadowlands pre-patch where I briefly rolled a level 10 tanking twink to smash dungeons out for lols. I recall some of the Legion quest reward gear being bugged as hell back then and giving many multitudes of the stats it should have been.

Not really done much since until a few weeks ago where I decided it would be a good idea to mess about with the 20's bracket. Made a F2P account (linked account, don't judge me I love my transmogs), perhaps it would have been smarter to have played the long-game and waited for sub to run out on an account so I had vet, gearing certainly seems easier when you can just buy things from the AH, but the F2P grind is fun, right? Right?

Anyway I made a Lightforged Draenei Priest (the aesthetic was peak, I have nothing else to say on the matter), tbh the intention had been to do lots of healing but it seems Holy kinda slaps right now so that's a fun little hybrid I didn't know was there. I got the gear, I got the enchants, and I started working on the gems. Jewellery crafting feels like an absolute slog! Being restricted to one daily quest to get the currency for the recipes kinda blows. But it is what it is. That character is kind of in maintenance mode right now as I slowly accrue gems and in the mean time I thought to myself; You know what's even better than 1 god awful F2P grind? Two F2P grinds.

So I made a Survival Hunter, Tauren, (look I know Surv is deplorable but surely it's not more deplorable than MM, right???). Anyway, that's fun, lots of damage, not much in the way of heals though, feels if I don't get something dead quick I'm just going to be worn down with my atrocious sustain. It's big dick damage though, and that I can get behind. (I know subconsciously I was kinda comparing the survivability of a healer to a class with a 30% heal on a 2min CD, but being a bit healer dependant kinda sucks when matchmaking doesn't give you any.)

Anyway I'm at the JC gems stage with that character as well now, so what I clearly needed was a 3rd horrible F2P grind (good lord why didn't I just go vet). Ret Pally Tauren time, please don't ask why all my twinks are hoofies, I don't know, it just happened. The choice of Ret Pally was easy, Baron Rivendare's sword seemed cool, and here I am. Damage is definitely lower than Surv, like seriously the ability I need to build 3 holy charges for does the same damage as a skill I can spam 3 times on Surv from full resource. BUT I feel more durable, and that's the main thing. All three classes so far have proven to be fun in their own way (screw pally not getting an interrupt until 27 though, I feel casters just mock me standing there hard casting whilst I beat on them for nought). Currently running the Massacre enchant whilst I work on the enchanting grind for Crusader, is Crusader really that much better? What's the uptime like? Is the heal still good? Any tips on not losing my mind levelling enchanting?

And that's kinda it, that's where I'm at. Just saying Hi, and seeing if anyone had any tips/tricks really. I've read a fair few of the guides and think I know what I'm doing, but you never know, y'know? I play EU so if anyone wants to game some time lemme know!

Oh! Also, nets, does anyone use nets? Nets seem cool, I never see anyone talk about nets. Do they work? are they viable?

And am I just allergic to haste? or does TBC gear (cos sockets) barely ever come with any haste anyways?

Much better, yes, and theres an enchanting guide in the FAQ/Guide Compendium thread that makes it rather easy.
Unless I missed which one it is, my understanding is essentially that I need truck-loads of cloth and I need to level tailoring alongside enchanting to get the materials for it. Is that about right?

Kind of. You can bypass most of the need to craft anything by purchasing gear from vendors. Being horde, you have quite the advantage here re: Krom'gar quartermaster. I've quoted the relevant part of the guide below. Enjoy!

side note, I forgot: Welcome aboard! love to see more F2Ps in the community :)

best method I found so far, farming cloth and d/e tailoring made gear, strange dust can not be obtained from randomly found greens at lvl20 Wow proffs has guides on where to farm X cloth. Brilliant shards are from d/e blues, farm dungeons for these. if you are done with strange dust but tailoring is too low for silk and higher make bandages to lvl quicker and easier then bolts.
(edit)-Expedition vendor in the new class trainer areas in SW and org sell greens that can give you strange dust
(edit) there is a pair of purple pants you can buy form the wsg pvp vendor for 5g that you can d/e. gives void crystals brilliant shards eternal essences and illusion dust. mostly brilliant shards though.
(edit)krom'gar vendor ( horde only) Requires doing a few quests to unlock but its very easy.

Yeah, you can probs level to 300 enchanting without even picking up tailoring. Just buy expedition weapons from Provisioner Jin’taka (or something like that, he is horde btw), DE them, get to ~125 ench, then do the krom’gar intro quests up until you get access to kromgar quartermaster (the questchain starts at ashenvale with a quest titled “We are here to do one thing” or something similar), buy shitload of kromgar boots, DE them, and get to 300 ench. Wow-professions has a really good vanilla 1-300 enchanting guide, i use that regularly. I’d say the 1-300 takes 3 hours tops, but then you have to farm crusader and mats for crusader, which is another pain point.
sry for not linking stuff and not remembering exact names, but im at work on phone.

Thanks! and I'll look into that vendor thing, sure seems easier than a whole lot of cloth farming.

Yeah I wrote that up specifically to help ppl get mats easily for enchanting, but also to help me on my f2ps by gathering knowledge form the fellows around here. I hope you have fun here on youf2p, it can be grindy but its super rewarding.
