New Fishing...Thought For Twinks?

So, not sure how useful this is. But I was discussing the new turtle mount obtained via fishing in 3.1, and the new changes coming to fishing.

-A new (and very rare) special mount can now be caught from Northrend fishing pools.

-The time needed to catch fish has been reduced.

-You can now fish anywhere, regardless of skill. Every catch has the potential for fishing skill gains, but you are likely to catch worthless junk in areas that are too difficult for your skill.

Now...with the last point, you can fish ANYWHERE regardless of skill. Does this mean new...achievement opportunities for twinks, and stuff like Titanium Seal of Dalaran for all levels? Sure, it will take longer...but we've always had to work harder for stuff we've wanted :p

And also, does it open a possibility for the Salty title? Only problem I can see is getting into SSC and ZG :p But I heard you can be summoned into these places, but that was, after all, only a screen shot of a level 15 in Sunwell (which could have been fake)

Just some brain candy perhaps, but it might open new - non pvp - related options:D

Any thoughts?

edit: ugh im dumb, no salty title :p Can't do the fishing daily quests >< but still...

.

I believe it mentions that skill levels below thresholds end up catching "junk". Mounts would be cool in 19s to me lol

Well, yes you are going to catch a lot of junk, but it says 'Every catch has the potential for fishing skill gains, but you are likely to catch worthless junk in areas that are too difficult for your skill." key words being 'you are LIKELY' :) just depends how much patience/luck you have eh?

Fishing

A new (and very rare) special mount can now be caught from Northrend fishing pools.

A new clam, the Giant Darkwater Clam, can be obtained by fishing in Wintergrasp. This mighty clam has a greatly increased chance to drop pearls, and yields up to five times the regular amount of clam meat.

New fishing dailies are now offered from Marcia Chase in Dalaran City!

Players are no longer required to do the Nat Pagle, Angler Extreme quest to gain Artisan fishing. The quest now offers a special superior-quality fishing pole instead. If you already completed the quest, you can visit Nat Pagle in Dustwallow Marsh to receive this new fishing pole.

The time needed to catch fish has been reduced.

You can now fish anywhere, regardless of skill. Every catch has the potential for fishing skill gains, but you are likely to catch worthless junk in areas that are too difficult for your skill.

You can now fish in Wintergrasp, and the fishin' is good!

You no longer need to learn fishing from books. The trainers have finally done their reading and are able to teach you the same thing.

Looks like the Turtle mount will have a 0% speed increase on land, but a 60% swim speed in any body of water.

that would be useful for 29 twinks that do AB, and those twinks only.

was just on PTR, i have a twink at TB and went to fishing trainer.

if your a 10 and have 200 fishing you can now learn artisan fishing (300)

also took a 39 twink to duskwallow marsh to nat pagle. my 39 has done the fishing quest before. nat pagle had a quest, so i completed it by accepting the new fishing pole. it is a 'Blue'

nat's lucking fishing pole

12-18 3.00

5 dps

requires 225 fishing

+25 fishing

O, yeah, 3 of those are being added post-patch..

same stats, diferent ways/factions to get em..

I dove into the subject..It seems like they found a way to put the TCG Snapjaw Turtle (mount) into the game.

It's prolly gonna be a deliverycatch..Ppl guessed it's gonna be something like:

U catch a small turtle, deliver to mommy-turtle and get the mount.

But, it is too good to be true, probably the turtle is going to have a lvl req..

Either a lvl requirement or a riding skill, either way I doubt a 19 will be able to use it.

I would like to see a mount that is something like the Headless Horseman's mount. 0% speed at 1-20, 30% at 21-30, 60% at 31-40, ...

That would be cool ...

You are correct sir, in fact (and if i am reading it right) a level 10 can get up to 450 Fishing Skill. SOURCE

From Source Link: El's Anglin'

All fishing trainers now teach Expert and Artisan fishing skill ranks. Juno Duffrain in Zangarmarsh also teaches Master rank. The Expert and Master rank books are no longer sold. New trained requirements are:

* Expert Fishing - 1 gold, level 10, fishing skill 125.

* Artisan Fishing - 2 gold 50 silver, level 10, fishing skill 200.

Only character level 10 is required to train fishing all the way to 450.

Expert and Artisan cooking ranks are also taught by trainers in Old Azeroth and Outland. Master Cooking is still taught by a book.

Twinks REJOICE!

Someone said we can get 300 fishing skill at 19, does that mean we can equip the fishing rod from the tournament? 0o

the arcanite fishing pole from the STV tourney has no fishing lvl requirement, other than you turn in the 40 fish to win the contest. a 19 with 225 fishing that wins the contest has a choice pole or trinket

Other than the cool factor, what would be the allure of winning the pole? I mean, I stopped fishing on my twink once I got my hat and boots- am I missing something?
