Having the final result with transparency will help to decide imo

The black background currently behind the hat prevents us to know what's the best decision to take

Not in love with how the favicon.ico turns out with just the hat. Tried one with a female night elf model, very rough draft just to see how it could turn out:

It's there, you just have to hold a magnifying glass to the monitor.

Looking at other company favicons, there are easy ones to identify like Google, Yahoo, Facebook, Reddit, Amazon, and YouTube. But then horrible ones (IMO) like eBay, FedEx, Charter Spectrum, Bing, etc. Without a definitive logo, the text "xp off" is too long. The fishing hat graphic doesn't look the greatest when tiny. "xp" by itself is the opposite of xp off. And most people don't want the (at least identifiable) bandana image.
