  • My dad wants to get me a new desktop. Screen and everything. If someone could help me out that would be great. I'm mostly going to use it just for media/gaming. Nothing too expensive, I'm thinking 600-1000. Use bestbuy.com, please

dont buy one from a store. use newegg and internets to make ur own...cheaper and better

go buy a 600 laptop. it works

I already have a laptop, I just wanted something that I can sit down and use, I've always used laptops and never had a desktop and in my experience, laptops aren't all that great.

Anyways - I went with a dell tower, and a 24 inch HD screen with a razor keyboard. My dad tried to get the Acer screen that I mentioned but he said they didn't have it but would find something like it, hopefully lol.

dell eh, grats with a shitty graphics card and a broken warranty once you get tired of 23fps and try to swap in a new one

if a graphics card struggles with wow then its gonna suck for pretty much everything else. other than surfing the int and writing papers

idk about now but in the past dell used proprietary parts that made upgrading difficult/impossible (and voids warranty). so if that hasnt changed gl upgrading graphics later

"It's not going to be able to handle memory-demanding software or graphics very well"

"it is not a computer to play you games on"

    etc.

not that i usually trust the reviews of someone that buys a machine like that...but maybe theyre on to something

Enjoy your shitty attitude, and probably life

you ask for help yet disregard advice given, what comes around goes around

if you for some reason don't want to get shafted by dell or hp or whatever, check the falcon guide. it's not flawless, but it'll point you in the right direction

go 'modest' or 'good' if you want to spend as little as possible while still maintaining acceptable performance

My laptop was about 600 bucks, and it works great for any game I want to plat (its an ASUS)
