Hello, I'm making a new 19 orc warrior twink and would like your imput on my gear and talent selection. I plan on mainly using a shield/sword set-up but if you have any other ideas feel free to share.

Gear:

Head- [Lucky Fishing Hat]

Neck- [Scout's Medallion]

Shoulders- [Rough Bronze Shoulders]

Back- [Subterranean Cape] w/ +3 agility

Chest- [Blackened Defias Armor] w/ +4 all stats

Wrist- [Cavedweller Bracers] w/ +9 strength

Hands- [Thorbia's Gauntlets] w/ 15 agility

Waist- [Deviate Scale Belt]

Legs- [Leggings of the Fang] w/ +16 armor (is that the max armor on BoP items?)

Feet- [Silver-linked Footguards] w/ Minor Speed

Ring 1- [Leggionare's Band]

Ring 2- [Seal of Sylvanas]

Trinket 1- [Arena Grand Master]

Trinket 2- [Insignia of the Horde]

Weapons:

Main Hand- [Cruel Barb] w/ Lifestealing

Shield- [Redbeard's Crest] w/ +7 stam (Is putting a shield Spike worth it or should i stick with 7 stam?)

Talents:

2/2 Improved Rend

2/2 Improved Bloodrage

5/5 Cruelty

1/3 Improved Thunder Clap

I have not looked into Glyphs yet so Suggestions would be great!

According to Chardev.org, I should have 1363 health, 261 AP which gives me 18.64 bonus dps leaving the [Cruel Barb] at 34.14 dps, and 19.89% crit chance.

How does this sound in different areas such as premades, PuG's, and Arenas?

For glyphs:

-Glyph of Charge

Increases the range of your Charge ability by 5 yards.

-Glyph of Hamstring

Gives your Hamtring ability a 10% chance to immobilize the target for 5 seconds.

That's what my warrior will be rolling with and several friends use this setup and love it.

glyph of charge is minor . Harmstring is major .

Besides that you should get a shield with spikes for when you pop shield block (the ability obviously) . You should also consider butcher's slicer instead of cruel bard . 3 str = 6 ap to you + 4 stam , same top dmg . And slower wpn speed , thus making it proc more . Also i would personally go for fang chest instead of defias if youre aiming for big crits . And prolly fang boots instead of those mail ones . More crit and you will get some bonus expertise . You can even add 4 expertise with nimble gloves and 5 extra from being an orc or human. Ive actually tried the expertise build and its quite badass. Sitting at 4.80% on a human war / 1k hp / 20% crit. Hope this helps =)

Thanks doomed for the input. I'm not really going for the big crits. I wanted a steady amount of dps and a decent crit chance.

Just saw the spec you were going for . I would really really recommend you this spec.

The World of Warcraft Armory

Might consider 2 points into imp heroic strike to reduce its rage cost instead of 2 points in cruelty. This spec will basically make it way easier for you burst healers after a sb.

Imo, the loss of 2% into heroic strike rage is definatly not worth it. Heroic strike will probably be the least of my worries in most situations.

Just a minor correction, >>>[ITEM]Butcher's Slicer[/ITEM]<<< gives 4 strength and 3 stamina, not vice versa ;)

I like it except for the whole 1 weapon, 1 shield thing.

For example if you put crusader on the barb, you'll get only half as much healing from it but your block value will go through the roof on a proc, as will your damage, and it allows you to get a smites, night reaver, or runic darkblade with 25 agi, pop blood fury and go to work after it procs. +278 attack power and 3.5% chance to crit for 15 seconds is going to win some fights.

If you're hellbent on lifestealing, get a second weapon for it.

And yeah, get a spiked shield and a stam shield.

It's pretty easy to get lazy about weapon swaps, but it's also pretty easy to see who is going to be more effective between the guy who can suddenly increase his ap by 300 and the guy who can't be bothered. It's really easy to set up too.

My Strat vs Rogues..

I use a Butchers with Crusader for the slow speed, when it procs I switch to Redbeard's Crest with a Fel-steel Shield Spike and pop Shield Block. I block literally everything while keeping rend up. I build a ton of rage and wait for them to pop evasion, then I switch to my Glacial Stone with +20 Haste rating and rage dump my Overpowers and Thunderclaps.

Whats the point in switching to a haste weapon when they pop evasion? Its not like you get any benefit from that haste since most of your whites get dodged. Also there is hardly reason to wait till crusader proc with shield block since it doubles your block amount anyway, which means something like 110 blocked value for me, a rogue is hardly hitting trough that anyway.

Personally I just wear them down with sf+redbeard and spikes. Using shield block when I need it or when it seems like they are looking for gouge+bandage. Disarming when it looks like it. Keep hammy+rend up. Thats it, no big tricks needed really.

Someone make a crit rating warrior with BoA items and skinning in 3.2 and tell me how it works. BoA Crit ratings Should be +6 chest, +6 shoulders, +6 axe, +9 skinning, +25 agility to axe (i think that equals like 3.3 or so crit rating), and the other standard agil pieces. That is 30 crit rating not sure what percent that is. Might want to add a couple of crit talents in there.
