3 months ago? Not really at all, but now with the right gear once you hit like 15% haste vers and crit seems to be more important but honestly at 11 no matter what youll melt face just need a weapon with lifesteal enchanted

I've headed over to Mechagon and started grinding there, halfway to Revered. I thought I'd go to NW in the meantime and grab the rings from there, but I seem to have encountered a bug whereby the loot drops at ilvl 252 and unusable unless I'm level 50
So it seems it's Mechagon or bust for me at this point.

You're either somehow in legacy loot mode (eg you're bringing a high level toon) or (more likely) you haven't properly triggered adventure mode by doing the right intro quests. This assumes you've completed the campaign on another toon on the same battle.net account.
As a level 11 twink, I'd ignore the NW rings however and just focus on Mechagon.

Skip breaks NW loot, makes it level 50 instead of scaling

Yeah, I did read a post about someone else having the same issue. I know that skipping the Shadowlands intro causes problems with none of the NPCs appearing in Oribos which is why I did all the intro quests right up until I got to Oribos and chose my covenant and only then did I choose the skip option but that appears to come with another bug.
