Need help making a 24

A few of you may remember me, but most probably have no idea who I am. I have been away from this game since the end of the second PvP season in Cataclysm. I am coming back to play with old friends in the 20-24 bracket and need everyone's help.

I have a 19 paladin and 19 warrior. My warrior has double AGM and is pretty decked out. My paladin has 1 agm and is decked, but not as decked out as my warrior. I want to level one of these toons to level 24.

I am wondering about a few things (if you think my questions are silly, that is fine, but please just answer them if you would as much has changed):

If you had to choose between warrior and paladin for survival and control alone, which would you choose?

If you had to choose between warrior and paladin for damage/burst alone, which would you choose?

Do warriors have any way to snare their opponents at lvl 24? Do paladins have any way to snare their opponents at lvl 24?

Also if there is anything else anyone would like to add, on why either class would be a better choice than the other, that would be very helpful as well. It is important to me as a warrior to have a good snare ability. If I went with my warrior I would like to have high survivability and a good crit percentage.

If I were to choose my paladin, I would probably heal most of the time and want to have a high amount of survivability along with a good crit percentage.

Thanks in advance for anyone who takes the time to help me out. I've been twinking since 2005 in this game and I am ready to get back into what I used to love doing!

edit: also if anyone would link some armory profiles of some different warriors and paladins that would be very helpful.

Welcome back. I actually seen a few 24s that you can tell were 19s due to shadowfang transmogs. Whichever u decide to go with both are fine.

Thanks! Yea I have 2 or 3 Shadowfangs on my warrior. I also have at least 1 on my paladin. Hoping to hear some opinions about the two classes before I decide which to level.

Since you play paladin in the bracket, could you give a more detailed opinion? Also do paladins have a good snare for pvp in that bracket? Is your armory with 4138 health finished, or are you still looking to make gear upgrades and add enchants for things you are possibly missing?

You should sell those extra Shadowfang's, lots of gold or $$. Paladins only have HoJ at 24 and have 55% less healing once being struck in combat due to 5.4's "Battle Fatigue". Both classes are fairly good though imo. You can be a beast if you want to FC now also because of new enchants, armor kits etc.

Prot dps warrior and holy paladin are going to be your best bets. Neither has a snare, unless you spec in to it as a warrior, but double charge is much better anyway.

Piercing howl is gone for warrior (rip fun factor) I believe charge has1.5 second stun and you can talent into Warbringer which has 4 second root and 15 second 50 % snare I believe.

Paladins have lots of speed these days so snare is not overly important and of course hammer of justice which is still a stun 5-6 secs.

Ret has lots of utility but I rarely see em.

Arms warrior lots of fun but as with any non hybrid pretty healer dependent.

All these numbers top of my head but are pretty close.

Make new toon don't level a twink unless u really want AGM and don't want to grind for new one.

The Shadowfangs are soulbound. I decided to go with my warrior. I have some boas already but probably need them all enchanted with new higher enchants. Need to get looking at some armory profiles. If you know of any beastly arms warriors feel free to link their toon here.

Make a new toon. Don't level a twink for this bracket.

I'm lvling it to play with friends. They happen to be into the 20-24 bracket and I don't think I will ever play my warrior again at 19. It will never be as fun as it once was for me at that level during that period of time.

Thank you everyone who is helping me with advice and facts. So much has changed and it can be overwhelming the amount of things I need to re-learn. Also new mechanics and things I have to learn for the first time since new things always come with expansions and patches.

And trust me I get where everyone is coming from telling me not to level my warrior. I really do get it. There is a TON of history and nostalgia behind this toon I am about to level and it is not easy let me tell you. But the time and effort it would take to fully gear out a brand spanking new toon is not worth it for me. I'll never play 19 warrior again anyway. It is time to move on and not hang on to my memories like I once felt compelled to do. I love to min/max my toons to the highest degree, and the path is never short. This will shave a lot of time and effort off the clock. That is for certain. I mean 2 agms saves me months right there. I'm too old to be grinding out AGMs. For real.

If those 19s are GF, reroll it takes a few hours to hit 24 again.

if not go ahead.

What exactly could I have grandfathered that is better than all the new things everyone can put on their toons since the new patch? Plus I don't ever plan to play 19 warrior ever again. So it doesn't even matter if I had some ridiculous grandfathered enchant or profession level. Considering everything else I just posted, I'm just going to level my warrior.

I'll have dual agms, my 2 hander, my shoulders, legs, and maybe even cloak all taken care of.

edit: Although now that I think back, my shoulder enchant I bought added 30 stam but it was made red and stopped working b/c they didn't want us to have high lvl enchants. Not sure if it even works now just because other new enchants work and scale. But I can't think of anything else really grandfathered in besides profession levels maybe? Not sure what has changed so IDK. I haven't reactivated yet so I'm unable to see what exactly I have enchanted and what works and doesn't work.

what i ment was if you have items that are GF'ed as a 19 dont level it, dont make the same mistakes as i have (i.e if you made the 19s in wotlk dont level) if you made that 19 in cata go level it imo

@Juno I made it much earlier than WotLK. You would have to convince my buddies to all play 19's. Otherwise, there is no way I'm gonna level and FULLY gear out a fresh toon for this bracket. I'm bored and have some free time for the next year since I'm back in school and not working full time. Not gonna deny myself just to keep a grandfathered toon in a video game in a twink bracket. It just isn't that serious for me. I am much older and it is just a game you know. But I totally get what you are saying and basically, I felt the same way for the majority of my career twinking and playing this game. I appreciate the warning but I think I am just going to bite the bullet and level it.

You're in for some heavy punishment as arms spec. Too fragile in battle stance, too rage starved in defensive stance.

i understand that mate, but i leveled a level 10/19 GF'ed 19 rogue with SF and ive regretted it ever since. rerolling srsly doesnt take that long (maybe an afternoon tops) AGM is now ez as piss due to realm hoping and proffs are even game changing any more.

rerolling a new 24 is mega ez, dont level a 19 because "too lazy to reroll" is all im saying. for a person whos passionate about 19s, dont level them plz qt <3
