Need help fine tuning...

I've been twiddling my thumbs lately waiting on new TWW content. I stumbled upon this Icy Veins article regarding the sheer dominance of the level 11 fury warrior in scaled content. Mind Blown. So I created and geared one last week. I'm struggling to get my arms around the finer details of the game mechanics regarding dmg. I mean, the "outta the box" (Anniversary TW/PvP TW gear) was already outperforming anything that I might have hoped for. Now that I have all these sockets and weapons galore, I'm just not sure how to get the most out of the toon. Or, even if I need to. I've seen so many posts regarding 23.5% haste. Is that a breakpoint? Strength is another. People are talking about the warrior attaining 140+ STR. Is there any data available regarding STR as it relates to dmg? Being new to the group, I'm not sure the powers that be will allow me to post my armory link. Please... any thoughts or pointers would be greatly appreciated. The toon is far from perfect and I'm sure I need to redo some gems...

(Edit: One more thing. I've seen several references to 23% DR. I assumed that was Vers. I'm thinking I'm mistaken. Can anyone elaborate on this a bit?)

  • You can try your luck and start farming your current belt with an additional socket proc, its rng on rng but its something you can upgrade.
  • I'm not the biggest fan of sul'thraze since it lacks the TW version lacks strength and the proc uses rppm instead of ppm so it essentially has a cap on how many times it can proc per minute. If possible try putting a 4.7 dps weapon in MH, experiment and confirm its better for your weapon setup but generally is higher value
  • I like getting haste/vers on my neck and cloak since you get a healthy amount of crit from the tbc socket gear but this is more personal pref than straight upgrade
  • Can get str or AP enchant on your gloves
  • I think you may have too many Shadowlands +2 gems
  • Dunno where you saw the 140 Str number at but str in general is good since it plays into abilities AP modifier and its different for each ability
  • Sims dont work on low level characters so we unfortunately can't get accurate stat priorities or definitive "BiS" lists
  • Stats start to hitting DRs at 30% with the exception of mastery which goes off points
  • The 23.5% you see thrown around is from https://sites.google.com/view/betis10stwinkguide/set-up and can read more about the conversation around it here https://xpoff.com/threads/explain-haste-cap-please.100595/#post-1324489
Idk if you've only looked at the icyveins guide but if so then you should also read through Beti's. I haven't read the IcyVeins one but Beti is someone from the community so the info is most likely more extensive

Wow Kaxle this is exactly was I was looking for. I am super grateful. The Icy Veins article was just info showcasing the level 10/11 twink. Not so much a quide. It did help me get to betis and here, so that was good. Thank you again for all of this.

Your toon is honestly not bad. Just change the boots and that pvp ring and I would also highly recommend getting nitro boost from northrend engineering. Obviously there are improvements in min maxing especially enchantment wise but you shouldn't really need it for your needs.

IMO I follow the rule of thumb where 1 str = 2 haste = 3 crit/vers >>> mastery/teriary/armor/stamina for fury warrior, with the exception of trinkets as alot of them have insane utility. If you're dying too much feel free to grind the legion medallion triket that cheats death. I also recommend picking up the stealth ring from draenor (bascially gives u rogue vanish ability every 5 min) to skip mobs.

my twink for reference, mostly bis

how did your items get upgraded? like to rare on the helm from the quest item? just luck of the draw upgrade?

Thats how all of the gear works.*
Be it a dungeon drop or a quest turn in.
Upgrade quality.
Add a socket.
+ stat like speed or leech or etc etc
For example his BiS belt has roughly a 10% drop chance.
So not only do you hope it drops, but you hope it upgrades.
And not only do you hope it upgrades, but you hope it upgrades the way you want it to and not just +leech or indestructible.
Which once youre twinked out for dungeon gear farming it aint so bad. You can run in, kill the boss that drops the belt, and reset the dungeon in like 3 minutes total.
Quest items though, its a quest, you get one shot for it to upgrade then youre stuck with it.

*Not all of the gear, like timewalking gear does not upgrade, does not socket, the item is the same every time.
