Necrotic Wake loot now level 50?

can confirm after using second SL intro skip all dungeon loot is lvl 50. changing timelines does nothing, qeueing as group or going solo does nothing to change this, basically it seems your forever locked out of getting any SL items if you choose the skip ... seems super messed up that this is a thing and noone cares, i guess SL was really that bad . i only wish i had learned this on a toon i didnt restart 25 times to get the socket proc on cloak ... looks like im leveling another 25 druids and sitting through the SL intro lol..

Give the GM a really poor survey review for not understanding your problem and send in a response. Mark it as still having a problem and Ask it to be escalated to a more senior GM. Give actual quotes from the initial response that show that the GM has no idea wtf they’re talking about

I did not complete the quests all the way into each zone.

As of now the 2nd skip should be totally avoided

Some other thoughts:

- it looks like only the dungeons from M+ have the issue with loot being req50, from the journal at least it looks like SL dungeons not from M+ are fine
- I wonder if there could be some kind of party sync/ dungeon bop trade shenanigans that could be used to recreate the equipable unscaled SL loot bug that we saw last expac (the ilv 155s)

I think it was in the past, although I don’t know for sure. I remember seeing many end game players outside it sometime last expansion

An example I’d suggest is theater of pain. Right now theater of pain is showing me normal loot on my borked toon. My guess is that theater of pain has never been a M+ dungeon (not since it was current) and that once the next season comes around, it will get the same scaling borked scaling treatment the other past/present M+ dungeons got

I’d suggest farming theater of pain gear now ahead of season 2 M+

just farm bfa dungeons for a cloak instead
that said still possible btw. but you'll need a sub and a friend. ur friend who must not have done the skip and is ur level must get the rings then trade them to you

i was referring to dungeon trash drops. you can get item level 25 boe socket cloaks but it'a pain in the ass to farm. Best method is taking a fury warrior into freehold and just mass pulling everything and skipping all mobs

Funny thing is, I already have both rings awhile ago. The reason why I even ran Necro was to check if the level 50 gear issue happens to me or no. It took me days to farm the same ring awhile back, and then I get it from just one run and with an added socket. It's always the stuff you don't need that gets socketted....

I just tested it with two different level 11 warrior characters. In Chromie time, for Shadolands, you can skip the first into quest for The Maw. DO NOT skip the second part of the intro quest for Oribos. It's a short quest chain that will eventually take you to Bastion. Once you're in Bastion, you can safely fly over and farm your rings.

IF you've already skipped the intro quest, there's no going back. You're going to have to find 2 other rings or start a new character.

Ok guys, this shit just happened to me today and figured out a workaround so just registered to tell you how to fix it.

So the problem is that the second skip into the shadowlands borks your character drops.
So how do we solve this?

• First, you need to make another level 10/11, pick Shadowlands from Chromie, go to Shadowlands, skip the first part ( Maw ), and then do the boring lap around Oribos and follow the questline until you are sent to Bastion ( this will be the unborked character ).
• Now you party with this new character, that will be able to loot the ilvl 30 ring version, and then trade it to the screwed character ( main twink ).

The problem now is that as two level 11 characters there is no legacy loot enabled. So how do we solve this? We need a third character, but we dont want a third account right?

• We log into the twink, this will be the group leader, and get in Necrotic Wake, this one will reset the dungeon aswell. We log on the second level 11, group up and get in the dungeon, and then log out. We change characters ( from the new 11 ) to the main ( level 80 ) join the group and get in the dungeon. This enables legacy loot.
• Finally we now we log out the main, change characters to the new level 11 and clear the boss.

Having to log in and out and reset and repeat the process is a pain in the ass. But atleast we can unbork the characters now.

TLDR; Main character enables legacy loot even if disconnected, the new level 11 can loot the proper version of the ring and trade it to the borked twink.

Can you do this with a start account or do I need to buy another account to to be able to party with a new level 11?

i went to NW today and dungeon showed level 50 and could not enter, i was in DF time. i went to Org and changed to SL and a quest popped up for Bastion, i changed back to DF time. the Bastion quest did not drop. i was able to enter NW i got both rings ilvl-24 able to equip them

Again for confusion, this req lv 50 is only happening if you take the SECOND quest skip in oribos

took a player (on DF time) who had done the old intro up to the first FP in Bastion to Oribos today, i went to see if any of the NPCs had any new quests or options, or i if i could pick a covenant zone. nothing was there for me, then i clicked on Tal-inari (not flagged for anything) and she had a red skip option to drop the campaign which i did. then i got a quest to pick a cov which i did. i did not take her next quest to pick another starting zone.

i went to bastion, and was able to enter NW and the mobs were level 20 same as player

i can change cov's at oribos now talking to the faction NPC. you keep those abilities thru the zones, before they would flip based on the zone you were in

Is it an issue that I used the two skip options in Oribos?

I entered Shadowlands though shadowlands chromie time and skipped the intro as well as skipped the talking portion. I used the table to go to bastion and got no follow up quests. I can enter the instance with no issues (level 11), but the loot (and the dungeon quest) both still give level 50 gear. Regular quests give normal gear. It's funny though because I do have some item level 30 stuff in my bags from these dungeons, so I got some items at some point.

Is there a way to fix this? I have no quests in oribos except from the innkeeper which I believe is unrelated.

I can confirm this is actually the problem. I stumbled upon this same issue unfortunately, and see it mentioned on Reddit, but no real solutions. I hadn't come across this forum yet and thought Blizz hotfixed or nerfed it or something, but I can confirm it's 100% related to skipping the second quest which you would have to do in order to unlock the flight master. I started trying to farm the ooze trinket, and I kept getting lvl 50 items, and of course thought Blizz had broken it, so I had essentially given up until I found this thread.

I went into NW last night with my lvl 80 DK, and my twink and the same thing happened... All the mobs were the appropriate level for my (11) warrior, but I couldn't equip any of the gear, just like the trinket.

Shout out to whoever in this thread mentioned trading the items!!!! That's what saved me, and also how I know for a fact that it's related to the second skip quest.

I have multiple accounts, so I started a Twink and was in the process of gearing him, when I thought.. Might as well make ANOTHER twink on a different account so I am not limited to which toons I can power level thought TW.. .Also so I could trade gear between them depending on which toon got drops.

I took my second twink to Oribos last night, took the first skip quest as soon as you load in, and went straight to the Engineering trainer (engineer main) so that I could use the Wormhole toy to get straight to Bastion... Low and behold the drops for my other twink are ilvl 30 and I can equip them.. so, it has to be related to the second skip.

I ran it till I got the first ring off the 1st boss on my 2nd twink and was able to trade it to my main twink.. .still working on the second ring. Now I'll probably start another Monk twink to farm for the ooze trinket. For anyone stuck with this, I would probably just say to make a second free account and trade the gear.. that's really your only option unless you want to completely start over from scratch, but there's no need for that IMO.

I did everything exactly as Sinestessia described, but the last boss's ring dropped to the character who didn't skip as soulbound. Somebody have a solution to this.
