I have no clue of who you speak, and so I presume you are talking about Remembered members that have not played the normal wow for a while.
Besides that, the point is not about loving the place; its about twinking to a set limit; not shifting the limit and saying that is now the set limit.
So, I won't say that your members are not having fun; what I am saying that in a rough sense they do no longer resemble World of Warcraft twinks in anyway.

Us, were creating a fantasy world a lot of twinks would love to try if Blizzard gave them the chance.. a bit more buffed gear then retail, after all twinking is about max stats for survivle and max dps. So whats wrong with going 5-10% over blizz-like stats if every clas is scaled with the correct formulas. We do things many 49's would have loved to do. You can't honestly tell me if 25 level 49's on retail could do Ony with her rescripted as a level 49 raid you wouldn't like that idea? Well that is the kind of things we do. So really, no reason to think our server fails just because god forbid we aren't 100% blizz-stat gear. Our 49 is nothing like NaxP we are scaled below T1 stats and no one is running around with 6k HP. So really it is unfair to compare us to them.

There was already some discussion somewhere on the wow-europe forums about the meaning of 'twink' and where the whole concept comes from; basically the conclusion of that thread was that WoW(retail) doesn't hold exclusive rights over the meaning of a twink.
Besides that I don't want to criticize any of your members/players, but upping the gear to such a extend as you are doing now is just beyond twinking. What you are doing is modding(?). Like the quake/cod and other shooter like community mods people made. Thus I don't like the idea of you saying that you have a twink server. You are more or less running servers which run fully modified WoW clients, that imo do no longer have the right to be called just WoW but should be refereed to as some other sort of game that is perhaps inspired on WoW.
Your point that twinks are about the maximum amount of stats is more then true, its part of the essence of a twink. But changing the environment to achieve higher stats is the opposite of how twinking works; you get the highest stats possible within the given boundaries. You just moved the boundaries to get the higher stats. You still hold twinks of course, just not the 'retail' WoW kind.
