Still works in retail just renamed my f2p paladin. Btw @op if you buy a server transfer most of the time it will make you change your name, happened when I switched my main from Myzrael to Pagle.

I deleted Neonz then I asked my brother to make a level 1 named Neonz same realm on his account and it forced me to name change when I tried it.

I had this conversation with someone once before not too long ago. I think it only applies to level 30 and above or something like that. Don't remember for sure.
