well, let's just say i was theory crafting a lot before without realizing that this game changed SO MUCH since 3.2, when i last played at 49.
most of the points i brought up are still valid, although after playing 3 wsg's on the last day of february, i think i will spec in a new way.
Best Rogue Spec for 49
1, ambush is important, maximize it, 10 yard, snare, (a), people at this level have 0 res(including yourself), it's a bursty scenario. (b), you have no cloak of shadow so you don't stay alive very long once out of stealth. and in general, you don't get to re-stealth unless you vanish.
2, recuperate is over-rated, in order to maximize recuperate, you have to spend 3 points in energetic recovery and 2 more points in honor among thieves, 5 points for something you probably won't even get to use for the same reason as 1(a), (b).
3, another reason for 2/2 waylay? use a fast offhand, put crippling on it, this way your mainhand can use wound it pretty much increases your ambush damage by *whatever your wound poison proc is* because at 2.6 the proc chance is like 93%.
